Persephone,
How could such an entity,
So soft, so kalon
Be a goddess of death?

Persephone, daughter of Demeter
Will you ever make spring come again?
Oh flower of youth,
Will your crown of flower petals
Turn into a crown of dried thorns
Down in the underground?
Where rosebuds turn shrivel, and die.

Oh Persephone,
How could one be so soft, yet so deathly?
You bathe under golden blue skies
And lay in colorful meadows of your creation,
Yet you still disappear
Into a realm so dark, so cold,
Where flowers die and the sun can never shine.
In the underground,
Where lost souls take their torment,
And the dead spill their dark blood
When doing their labor.

Tell me, Persephone, Queen of the Underground,
Is this the life you truly seek?

And thus, she says:
