"I had already told Alicia you said you could pick me up. If you was gone change at the last minute I would've just told her to come Kayla" I fussed through the phone at Kayla, who said she could pick me up from work
"Well I can't. I got something I gotta handle. See if she can go get you"
I rolled my eyes and just hung up the phone on her and started to dial Alicia's number while I leaned back against the outside of the building. I was exhausted from working nonstop all week and I could never catch a break. I watched as the cars left the packed drive thru as Alicia's phone rung. I knew she was probably with her nigga by now so my best bet was to probably walk down the road to the nearest bus stop. I let out a sigh, grabbed my purse and started walking.
As tons of cars started to come through to enter chic fil a, I waited so I could safely cross through. Just as the traffic stopped I hurried across and started walking down the road, seeing what looked like my cousin's car speed past me however it stopped a little down the road and backed up until it reached me.
Just like I assumed, it was Benji in his silver mustang. He rolled his window down looking over at me
"Why you walking?"
"I'm going to the bus stop" I pointed towards my destination down the road. He looked in the direction of the bus stop then unlocked his doors
"Getcho ass in"
"I'm goo-"
"Now"
I walked to his car and got in the passenger seat, closing the door and Benji drove off. As wrong as I treated my cousin over the past few months, I can't even see how he could stand to allow me in his car right now. I guess Benji really gotta heart
"I would've been good Benji"
He glanced over at me "did I ask you that? That how you get to and from work?"
"No. Alicia usually my ride but Kayla was supposed to pick me up and changed at the last minute"
Benji shook his head
"I been told you bout fuckin with that bitch"
I just looked out the window
"You goin home?" He asked me and I shook my head
"No. I'm staying at Alicia's house"
"Why?"
"Momma kicked me out the house the other day"
Benji chuckled to himself "for what?"
"She wanted me to pay majority of the bills yet she also told me I had to be out her house in the next month or so so I told her if that's the case I can't pay any bills cause I gotta save up. So she told me to save up while I'm sleeping on the streets"
