Chapter 15 - Sherlock's strange behavior

TW: Sexual Assault mention

John had recently noticed a change in his husband's behavior. Multiple times Sherlock had accidentally gotten nosebleeds at crime scenes and had to hold his scarf by his nose to finish his dedication about the crime. Multiple times he and John would go out to dinner and would have to leave because the smells were "too strong" for Sherlock. He was also much more tired. After a long day of work John would return to the flat only to find Sherlock passed out in his chair with Lotus curled up with him. And speaking about Lotus, the cat was acting quite strange as well. Rubbing herself on Sherlock and purring a lot more than usual. All of this had John suspicious. Sherlock had also been much more conscious of his voice, and occasionally John saw his husband outlining his hips with his hands with a look of dissatisfaction on his face.

It was in a late evening when John had returned from work. Sherlock was pacing, a look of worry on his face. Lotus was jogging up along with Sherlock rubbing herself against him.
"Case?" John asked his husband putting his coat and bag away. Sherlock didn't respond and continued to pace this time even faster.
"Sherlock?"
The pacing continued and Sherlock's breathing quickened. John grew more worried.
"Sherlock!" John said sternly granting Sherlock and stopping him from taking another step.
"Babe you alright?" John asked cautiously. Sherlock was lightly shaking. John helped his husband sit down and began to make tea. When Sherlock tried to get up John would strut over and push his partner back down on the chair. When he brought tea over to Sherlock. After a moment of silence John began to speak.
"Sherlock, I know something is up. You've  been acting different as of late. And the bloody cat can sense something is going on with you." Sherlock looked down at his hands. He took a deep breathe.
"I know the symptoms, John and I'm sure you recognize it too. John I am so sorry, I've been stupid I shouldn't have gone off testosterone for that long. This is all my fault and I don't blame you if you want to-" John immediately cut Sherlock off with a small kiss. One hand on his husband's cheek the other trailed down to Sherlock's stomach. Sherlock confused looked up at John's face. Surprised to see a small smile and warm eyes meet his scared expression.
"A child, Sherlock Holmes is bearing a child..." John softly said, the army doctor's eyes welled up with tears. The top began to softly cry. Sherlock's tears of relief and John's tears of joy.
"Are you keeping it?" John asked Sherlock. Sherlock looked at John.
"Well I assumed you wouldn't want a child, but seeing as how you reacted I wouldn't mind having your child this is nothing like last time..." Sherlock answered quickly.
"Last time?" John questioned and Sherlock froze. Sherlock realized the mistake he had made.
"Um I guess I never told you how I got into drugs, gosh this'll be a long story." When Sherlock finished the story of his sexual assault and how Mycroft had gotten him an abortion. John was shocked, how could someone take advantage of his husband. John wrapped arms around Sherlock.
"So we're keeping it?" John asked Sherlock. Sherlock nodded.
"Only if you want to too, this is also your child." Sherlock answered hugging John tighter.
"I always wanted kids" John smiled softly. That evening had changed the two men's lives forever. The two were wrapped in a blanket one pregnant and the other overjoyed.

Hello everyone. Sorry I haven't been posting I've been busy. Here's a new chapter! Yay! First let's go over the symptoms. Nose bleeds, sensitive smell, and fatigue are all signs of pregnancy. Although not the famous symptoms, still symptoms. Then Lotus's behavior, cats can actually sense when their human is pregnant and tend to rub against their legs more and purr a lot. Then there was the gender dysphoria which is expected, the outlying hips is something I am really dysphoric about since they can be quite feminine. Also I do recommend doing some read watch on trans pregnancy as there are some interesting cases of trans men giving birth. However sadly there isn't much awareness towards trans man pregnancy. There is also a lack of medical assistance to pregnant trans men which is super horrible and can be dangerous for the individual who is pregnant and the infant. Trans men are also more likely during pregnancy to feel feelings of isolation and stronger gender dysphoria. I feel we still need to push that not all woman can give birth and menstruate and some men can menstruate and give birth more so that we don't have these issues which is why I'm trying to bring awareness through this fic. Even only by a little bit I'm still trying to make a change.
