Yoongi sighed. All the details are still lingering on his mind, even the exact time and date when Col. Min Dae Hyun, his deceased father, choose to fulfill his duty even if it costs his life.

The tears are threatening to escape his sharp eyes. He can't help but to mentally question his self, Why does it still hurt? it's been already more than 2 decades, Yoongi. You better stop being a crybaby.

Yes, he is already 27 years old and is now leading the country as the youngest five-star-general of the South Korean Army. He couldn't help but feel proud of his achievement. If only his dad could see him, maybe he'll be happy.

His thoughts were interrupted by a soft knock on his door. It's his mother, carrying a tray filled with some light snacks and a cup of coffee — iced americano to be exact, his favorite.

"Eomma, let me help you", he said and rushed to his mother, picking up the tray.

"Yoonie, 잘 있어 (how are you)? Eomma misses you so much, my baby." He kisses her forehead and nod his head. He knows that his dad would be happy, I took care of mom, appa. i didn't break my promise.

"I'm good, eomma. I'm just tired since I did some household chores. I cooked some kimchi fried rice for my pretty, mommy. Would you like to taste it?" Yoongi said, his eyes bursting with pride. His mother couldn't help but laugh softly.

"우리 윤기아 (My yoongi), you're really a man now, yeah? but, when do you plan to give me granchildren? hmmm?" his mother teasingly asked him. Yoongi's gaze slowly drops on the floor. Flush creeping on his cheeks.

"Yah, eomma. Am i not your baby anymore? Why would you want me to build a family already? Aigoo, eomma. That hurts." He acted like he's hurt, hands on his left chest and a frown visible on his face. His mother laughs, i miss that sound, eomma. It's because her mother rarely laughs after his father passed away. Yes, she always took care of yoongi but, every night, he could hear his mother's whimpers and soft sobs asking his father why he left them so sudden.

Yoongi never thought that they would be able to survive. His dad was their strongest foundation. When his father bit the dust, they found it difficult to stand up. At first, his mom always reminds him that his dad will come back and that he's just in a mission but as he grow older, he realized that his appa would never come back. He can feel his heart, breaking into pieces. He wanna scream, cry and let his heart out, but he can't. He was like a living stone -- all the pain he had undergone made his heart indifferent. Yoongi never thought that he'll be able to move on. He want the guidance and love of his father. How he used to call him his lil meow meow. Nonetheless, he was still grateful to have a father like him and for inspiring him to protect the nation --- This is all for you, Appa. Please guide me on leading this country.
