13(Part 3)

Mina's POV

We arrived at our dorm and went in. Our food also got delivered and we ate. Momo and Dahyun are not talking to each other and most likely ignoring each other as well.

"Take a rest everybody. It's been a long night" Jihyo said and I feel guilty ruining our night out.

"I'm sorry for ruining the night" I bowed as I apologized.

"Don't apologize Mina. You've done nothing wrong" Nayeon Unnie said.

"Goodnight everyone, I love you all" our cheerful Shiba inu said and went to our room.

"Mina, come sit beside me" Jihyo tapped her side and I sat beside her.

We're in the living room because she told me she needs to tell me something. And honestly, I'm so scared and nervous right now.

"Mina, relax. I'm not going to eat you" Jihyo chuckled and somehow it made me relaxed.

"So care to explain what happened?" she asked and I nodded my head.

"Well, we entered the antique shop and I saw piles of papers so I decided to take a look. It's a newspaper from 10 years ago and it's about a mad Doctor experimenting on a girl... Then Chaeng asked me what is it so I gave her the newspaper and her breathing got unstable... " I told her and she nodded her head.

"Mina... Chaeyoung is the girl from 10 years ago. She's the girl that got experimented by Dr. Won Bin..."

What?

"I asked Chaeyoung about this. Do you remember the first time you saw Chaeyoung act like this is when you told her to take her hoodie off?" I nodded.

"Just like what the newspaper said, her body is full of scars that. Scars made by that insane person" she said and I still can't believe it.

"Chaeyoung isn't the only one that who went through something harsh and cruel like this. Jeongyeon unnie, Dahyun and Tzuyu also" she said

"C-can I know why?" I asked stuttering.

"Kim Dahyun, the dubu in our university. She was a bubbly highschooler that everyone loved. Her only family is her father. One day, she fells inlove with a same-sex and got into a relationship. She told her father expecting he'll accept her but nope. It was totally the opposite..." she sighed before continuing.

"Her father locked her up inside the room and would torture her physically and mentally everyday. He would say that gays like her are parasites in this world or that she'll die with no one loving her because she's gay. Fortunately, her neighbors found out about this and waited for her father to go to work. When they found Dahyun, her white skin is covered with her own blood and  some of her bones are broken. They called the police and rescued Dahyun but they never caught her father. Because of all the torturing, she developed a fear. Whenever she knows that she's attracted to a girl, she would hit her head and tell herself to stop or her father would come and hurt her. The worst thing she did is when she smashed a bottle over her head and shard glasses cut her skin and blood flowed down" she said.

"Chou Tzuyu, the youngest among us.
She's known in our university as the Ice Goddess. All her comments would make us laugh" Jihyo chuckled

"She's from Taiwan actually. Her family is unknown but some say they sold her to some people here in Korea but we wouldn't know that, only herself. We eventually found out that she is from a wealthy family named Chou that are nowhere to be traced or found. Her family used her as a slave and treated her not like a daughter. She never felt love because all she felt was depression" Jihyo paused and I saw her eyes started to well-up. She cleared her voice and continued.

"She never felt a mother's embrace since she was a baby. She was cared by an old maid who passed away when she's 10 years old. According to Tzuyu, she was an unwanted child. Her brother despises her. When her brother got branded clothes, she'll only get second handed clothes from the thrift shop. When her brother got the latest phone, she'll get to clean a whole big room by herself. All she remembered is how she felt like dying. And because of all that negative thinking, she put a 100-layered wall around her heart. When I first met her, her eyes doesn't show anything. It was like staring into a void. When she got into therapy, the psychiatrist told us that it seems like she doesn't know what emotions are or what type of feeling is this or that... All those years of ignorance, she developed no emotions" she said and a tear fell. She quickly wiped it and smiled.

"Yoo Jeongyeon, the handsome girl in our university. What the news and the people didn't know that Won Bin has another victim before Chaeyoung. And that is Jeongyeon unnie. But unlike Chaeyoung, she doesn't have scars all over her body. But inside her body are chemicals that are too much for a human body to handle. When the doctors examined her, they were impressed on how hard she hold onto her life" Jihyo smiled like a proud mother when she mentioned the last part.

"But unfortunately... The chemicals have a side effect... A bad one to be exact... Because of how much chemicals Won Bin inserted to her body, months from now, it will reach her brain" Jihyo's voice cracked and I grabbed a tissue and handed it to her.

"The doctors told us that there are two possibilities that might happen and the two of them are both bad ones. Either she'll slowly lose her memories or she'll... Die. Did you notice that Jeongyeon unnie would ask the same question twice? That's one of the symptoms" Jihyo said and I'm shocked.

"D-die?" I asked, checking if I'm hearing things but no, she nodded her head.

"And my baby Son Chaeyoung, like what you've heard. She got experimented on. We found out about her past life before she got abducted by the mad person. She has a loving family who got into a car accident. She was put into an orphanage where Won Bin adopted her. She actually thought that this is her 2nd chance to have a family that won't leave her but she got it all wrong. The day she got out of the orphanage, she was tranquilized and he flew her to Japan. There, she got tormented everyday. Yelping in pain, crying for help" Jihyo's tears finally fell down.

"No one could hear her scream when Won Bin would cut a flesh from her. No one could see her horrible state in that medical table. Her voice was gone from all the screaming but no one came to help. No one knows until a search of abandoned building explorers complained about something smelling disgusting and called the police. They found Chaeyoung with scars, stitches and open wounds all over her body" Jihyo stopped and pressed between her eyes.

"W-when we first met... Her eyes are empty. I introduced myself to her and offered my hand but she slapped it away... She also told me that it hurts and asked me to make it stop..." Jihyo wiped her tears and used all the tissues.

"But the hardest thing I've experienced is when we got to live the five of us together. I got home and no one greeted. I knocked at their room but no one answered. I opened the door to see Tzuyu and Chaeyoung lying on the ground and Dahyun and Jeongyeon unnie on the bed. With blood coming out of their wrists. I called the medic and they arrived in 5 minutes. They told me that the four of them lost so much blood and they would be dead on arrival but I kept optimistic. I asked them what should I do and they told me they needed a blood donor that matches their type. I called my father and soon he arrived with four different people, my aunties and uncles. The four of them survived and I stayed beside them until they are discharged" she ended it with a smile and I can't say anything at all.

"Let's sleep now. We still have classes tomorrow. Goodnight Mina" she said and stood up.

I walked to my shared room and plopped myself to bed. A lot of things are going through my mind. Stories that needed to be processed.

"Mina! Sleep! We still have classes tomorrow!... I hope everyone will be okay"

So how is it so far?
