"Stansfield?" Fallon asks, as we descend down the staircase. "I haven't seen him since he cleared Steven of his- what was it, a DUI charge?"
"That was Ronnie." He tells her.
"Guilty." I comment. "He got me off the hook for that, after he got Fallon off for indecent exposure."
"When have I ever looked indecent?" She asks, with a smirk, as we come to a stop. "Maybe Dad will make his honeymoon now."
"Where is he?" I ask.
"In with his lawyers." Steven answers, and we all sigh, and walk our different ways, our conversation having come to an end.
I rest myself, by sitting on a sofa, closing my eyes, and tilting my head to the back of the sofa.
What did we get ourselves into? This is exactly the kind of thing, that I wanted to avoid, and not even a day after the wedding, this happens. This has to go away, I don't care how.
I just figured out, that I wanted to own clubs, maybe even coffee shops of the same name. I don't really know why, the idea just appealed to me. And now that I figured out what kind of business I want to do, I'm not gonna let anything ruin it. Certainly not a women, who's been a 'Carrington' for two seconds.
"Well, this certainly turned out to be an interesting wedding." A voice comes, near my head, and I jump.
I turn my head, to see the guy that had spilled whiskey all over my dress, which I changed out of, by the way. He was leaning on the sofa, that I was sitting on, holding a drink in his hand.
"Gee, you're not creepy at all." I say sarcastically.
"I saw you were deep in thought, came by to say hi." He tells me nonchalantly.
"Most people would let me be with my thoughts." I tell him, and stand up, coming face to face with.
"I'm not most people." He says with a smirk.
"I don't even know your name." I say.
"Maxwell Ridley." He extends his hand for me to shake.
"Veronica Carrington." I tell him, shaking his hand. "And, I'm guessing you knew that already."
"Yeah, I did." He replies, and is about to say something else, but gets cuts off, as I spot Dad and Jeff coming face to face.
"Listen, I gotta go." I tell him, and don't wait for a reply, as I make my way towards Dad.
