Listen to Silence

Listen to silence, because it has so much to say.
Listen to silence, as it tells its tale.

Drop by drop, the tears from the sky,
Fall on the ground, ever so dry.
Every drop pattering on the pane,
Has her story filled with pain.

Push and push, just a little bit harder,
Open the creaking door to the parlour.
Even the door hisses his untold story,
As it stands there, every day, with glory.

Look around, even in the tiniest crack,
Find a bug, killed and whacked.
He was simply buzzing, humming to us,
Maybe giving some warning to us.

Feel your way around, when the weather is cold,
No buzzing bugs, crunching leaves to behold.
When the whole world is utterly silent,
Then the trees start their whispering conference.

Look below, below the sheltering trees,
Find a rose humming with the breeze.
No cries here, just happiness, until one day,
The rose is snatched, and no one bears her say.

These sweet sounds are all around us,
These cries of pain that surround us.
But we're too busy with what's going around,
To care about these shivering, silent sounds...
