With a thick fog all around,
cheerful colours, nowhere found.
A sheet of thin, white flakes,
like icing on those bake-shop cakes.

The sun trying to peep through,
all the clouds, snow and dew.
A small ray in this dull time,
is the little warmth of this sunlight.

The crisp cold air filling my lungs,
even the bird's song remained un-sung.
It's a weird tranquility, way too calm,
no hustle-bustle or any sense of alarm.

People huddled inside with hot mugs,
by the doorstep, hung coats and uggs.
A small fire cackling at the fireplace,
but I was far away from this home-y place.

Here outside lies a funny gloom,
my heart is like a flower, unable to bloom.
Walking on this snowy street, fare from home,
but at least I know, I wouldn't be alone...
