Zach stopped the urge to laugh.

"Tresspassing po kasi ang ginawa n'yo, ma'am," anang police dito.
"Salazar po. Doctor Salazar," anito sa pulis bago dali-daling naglabas ng ID mula sa wallet nito.
Naramdaman ni Zach ang pagkunot ng sariling noo when he heard that she claimed to be a doctor.
Like for real?
"'Eto po," anito sabay abot sa ID do'n sa police.
"Hindi po ako masamang tao," pag-uulit nito. "I'm actually a doctor. And this is just a misundertanding. Medyo madilim po kasi kanina kaya hindi nila ako agad namukhaan. But I am actually friends with..." anito bago bumaling sa kanyang direksiyon.
"Mendoza. Architect Zachary Mendoza," he finished.
"Yeah, I am actually friends with Architect Mendoza. We're actually close." She let out an awkward laugh before she looked at him with those puppy eyes. It was like she was silently begging him to just go with the flow.
He chuckled.

Why, it was actually her who insisted that they call a police ealier because "he was harassing her". But look at her now silently begging for his mercy.
Bumaling sa kanya ang police. Obviously ay hindi ito convinced do'n sa alibi no'ng babae.
Kinuha ni Zach ang ID mula do'n sa pulis. He examined it. It looked legit. He gave it back to the police.
He looked at her again. And she again tried the puppy eyes technique on him.
And damn, it's working!
Naiiling na lang si Zach.
This woman is crazy.
Nagpabaling-baling ang tingin niya mula sa pulis, do'n sa babae, at do'n sa foreman na sumunod sa kanya sa taas noong natagalan siyang bumaba.
Naramdaman niya ang paggalaw ng kanyang mga panga bago siya nagpakawala ng isang malalim na buntong-hininga.
Alright, let's give this crazy woman a chance.
"Pasensya na po sa abala, officer, pero aayusin na lang po namin 'to," aniya do'n sa pulis.
He saw her face lit up.
"Sigurado po kayo, sir? Hindi ni'yo na po iri-report ang nangyaring insidente?" anang pulis.
"Opo, aayusin na lang po namin 'to," aniya.
"Sige po, sir. Basta 'pag nagkaproblema, tawag na lang po ulit kayo, sir, at nang magawan natin ng report," anito.
"Sige po, officer. Maraming salamat po," aniya habang kinakamayan ito.
He watched as she also shook hands with the police officer after he gave her back her ID. Panay "thank you" din ito.
They watched as the police officer went back to the patrol car where his colleague was waiting.
"Thank you po ulit, sir! Ingat po kayo!" pahabol no'ng babae do'n sa pulis. She even waved at them.
He fought the urge to chuckle.
