"Unleash the beasts when I give you the signal."

Those were the last words I heard my uncle utter before he caught me in the doorway

eavesdropping on his plan to murder his brother just so he could add another famous company to

his empire.

I lived with my uncle for 15 years, ever since my dear parents perished in a fire that took away our

entire mansion. I never questioned their death, assuming it was an accident just like the police told

me. I never  wondered how such a fire could start in our state-of-the-art mansion with its

latest safety devices and security measures. I also never gave any thought to how every time a friend

or relative died my uncle always inherited their wealth. That was until ten minutes before.

In ten minutes, I realised that my uncle who I loved dearly, who became my guardian ever since I

was three, wasn't the generous and innocent man I always thought he was. He was a monster. He

didn't care about anyone but himself. All he wanted was power.

A loud thud  snapped me out of my train of thought only to see my uncle's minions heading

straight at me with guns that looked like they could do much more harm than any other I had seen in

movies, so I ran. I fled the living room with the minions in tow. I raced through the prolonged

hallways, searching for a place to take refuge. My uncle's house was like a labyrinth. It was a maze

that I had lived in my entire life. I passed many passages and corridors but I couldn't get away from

them. No matter where I went, I could still hear their footsteps behind me. I ran in different

directions for a few more minutes until I saw it. I saw the door to my uncle's office. There was no

way anyone could get through to it with all the security systems inside.

I hastily entered the room and locked the door. I was finally safe. Making my way to my uncle's

mahogany desk while hatching a plan to escape the wretched place, I tripped. I think I must have

tripped over a wall and soon the entire world went black .I felt myself hit a wall then tumble

down what seemed like a flight of stairs .After a while I came to a halt ,but my surroundings were

still pitch black and it remained pitch black until my eyes got used to the lack of lighting. When my

eyes did adjust I saw the fur rugs and massive bookshelves of the study in the distance. I must have

fallen through the walls.

I saw another faint glow at the other corner of the tunnel I had fallen into. I sprinted toward it,

desperate for it to be an escape route, but what I saw in front of me left my mouth agape. I was

petrified.

Standing in an immaculate room were thousands of soldiers all lined up in rows, holding monstrous

weapons.

They were all identical.

They were clones.
