Mason pov:
So I just woke up again and my mom looked at me.
"Hey... How are you feeling?"
"Could've been worse... When are we going home...?"
My mom smiled softly and squeezed my hand.

We sat in front of Dr. Reinz like two hours later.
"Okay, we know it for sure. Mason, you have cancer."
"Great... First my dad and now me."
"Your dad had cancer?"
"He died because of it."
"I'm sorry to hear that."
"Promise me that you won't let me die."
"I can promise you that we do everything we can to make you healthy again."
"That's the same crap which you told my husband." My mom said and she left the room.
"Mom, wait up!" I said and I followed her.
"I'm sorry..." she said.
I hugged her.
"It's okay... I know why you said that..."
"I'm scared to lose you too."
I looked at her.
"You won't. We can handle it. The two of us against the world, remember?"
My mom smiled.
"You're just like your father, you always know what to say."
I grinned shortly.
"Come on. I bet that there is a lot more 'crap' that Dr. Reinz want to tell us."
My mom grinned softly and we walked back.

"As I was saying. We'll do everything we can." Dr. Reinz said.
"Okay, so can I go home now? There is this history test later this week and-"
"You have to stay here. Because we need to start the treatments."
"But I'm not allowed to go to the junior year if I don't do that test!"
"Mason, calm down..." my mom said.
Really, now I'm the onw who needs to calm down.
Dr. Reinz looked at me.
"If we start the treatments today, it'll be over sooner. Then you can go back to school and go to junior year."
"But what about-"
"Everything will be fine. We start treatments and then you can do whatever you want."
I swallowed and nodded.
"One of the nurses, Grace, will show you the department and the room wherr you'll be staying during the treatments." Dr. Reinz said.
"Okay..."

My mom went home to pick up some clothes and stuff while I was waiting for that Grace nurse.
"You must be Mason, I'm Grace." a kind looking nurse said.
"Yea, I'm Mason."
"I'll show you around. Okay?"
"I guess..."
I didn't actually listen when she showed me around.
I wanted to get out of here. My phone buzzed and Grace grinned.
"Someone is missing you."
"That's what you get when you leave school during the second period."
I looked at it was Noah.
Crap...
'Hey dude, how's it going? Stacey seems worried about you. And I am too...'
'I was right... I'll be stuck here for quite some time... Can you tell her for me? Texting isn't quite right...'
'Sure... Hang in there.'
'Will do.'
I put my phone away and looked at Grace.
"Sorry, that was my best friend Noah."
"Don't apologise for that. It's good to stay in touch with your friends while you're here."
We walked to an empty room, well there was a hospital bed and all but you know what I mean.
"This will be your room." Grace said.
"Yea... Kinda got that part."
"If there is an emergency, we hope of not, you can press on that red button."
"Okay."
"If you need anything, I'll be down the hall."
"Grace, wait. How long is all this going to take?"
"Depends on. It could be six month. Some people are here for four to five years already..."
"That long!?"
"It's quite a progress... But you're not here everyday. Only during the treatments. You'll be here for five weeks first, including two treatments of a week. Then you can go home for three weeks and then another treatment."
"And then that circle round and round."
"Until your situation changes of course."
"Got it..."
"Anything else before I go?"
"Does it happen fast?"
"What?"
"The hair losing thing?"
"After two to three weeks, yes."
"O- okay..."
Damm that's fast...
Grace left and I sat down on that bed.
My phone buzzed.
A message from an unknown number.
'Hey Mason. Noah told me. I'm so sorry for you. You don't deserve this, no one does but especially you. Hang in there. -Stacey.'
'Hey Stacey... Thanks, that means a lot...'
'Anytime. That's what friends are for... I was kinda wirried though...'
'Yea, Noah told me.'
'I'll see you soon, right?'
'Yea...'
And I lied to her, great...
I went offline and so did she.
My mom returned.
"Hey..." I muttered.
"Hey..." my mom muttered.
We didn't say a thing...
My first treatment was in a few hours and I was really nervous...
I never went to the hospital with dad back then, so I don't know how it's going to happen...
"It's not that bad..." my mom said.
"If you say so..." I muttered.
