Chapter 3

Since Gryffindors and Slythein have Defense against the dark arts this morning Severus and I walk together. James comes crashing through us knocking my books out of my hands. He turns and stares I give him a mean look. Severus picks up my books for me. I look at James once again before turning away with Severus. "The nerve of that boy." Severus says
"It's ok Severus." I say
We got to Professor Teresa's classroom. "Welcome First years Welcome. To defense against the dark Arts I am your teacher Teresa. So today were gonna do something simple. Start of simple and work our way big." Teresa says
I raise my hand She called on me "Um Professor what do you mean work our way big?" I ask
"Well what do you think I mean dear What's your name?" she asks
"Lily Evans." I say
"What do you think I mean Lily dear? What do you hope for this year?" she asks
"I'm not sure I've always wanted to know how to duel another wizard or witch. Also to cast a charm to protect you." I say
"Oh yes but my dear you'll learn to cast that sort of charm in your 3rd year." Professor said "But we will learn to duel soon." She says "Dear tell me something's about you. You seem to have an interest in this sort of thing."
"My favorite is potions. Well I like spells and I'm fair on a broom. Magic History isn't my favorite. I like defense against the dark arts. I'm a muggle born. Astronomy is fun. I'm smart and courageous. That's about it." I say
"Class dismissed." Professor said
We left and James left still no apology.
We go strait to Flying. We go with Ravenclaws. We are there and Madam Pooch is there "Welcome to your first flying lesson. Stand to the left side of your broom and stick your right hand out and say up."
"Up." Is the only word that comes out of our mouths.
James and mine work on the first try. Once everyone got there broom "mount your broom and kick off the ground and and tilt it back down and come down on the ground." Professor says
I do as told "Good job Lily Evans." Professor says
"Show off." A Ravenclaw said "I never knew a mudblood could be so good at something other than muggle studies."
I started crying and I ran off away from the class I heard "15 points from Ravenclaw." Madam pooch said
later I went to Lunch. Still upset I sit down beside Sirius. "You ok Lily." Mallory asked
"Yeah." I say "If he doesn't like me than that's fine and He's just Jealous that I'm smarter than he is."
Lunch is over and we go to potions. I'm very gifted in potions.
Professor has us make a potion that will have 3 smells that you love I can't remember the name. I follow the book exactly. "Children fill out the parchment I gave you with the smells you smell." Professor says
I smell Cherries from the place where I first met Severus, The smell of the perfume I use and blueberries.
"Professor I'm done." I say
"What smells my dear."
"Cherries from the lake near my house. The perfume I use and blueberries." I say
"Perfect. You may go to your next class my dear." Professor says
"Ok." I got up and left James is still staring at me.
