Ellie: If it wasn't for Y/N's quick thinking we probably wouldn't have made it out.
Y/N: Don't give me credit.
Ellie: I'm serious.
Sam: It was pretty intense back there.
Ellie: Yeah... Totally.
Sam: How did you three end up together?
Ellie: A friend of mine, Marlene, asked him to take me to the Fireflies.
Sam: What about you?
Y/N: Me and Joel go way back.
Sam: No wonder you guys work so well.
Ellie: Yeah, well... Now I just boss them around.

Y/N, Ellie, Joel, Sam, and Henry continue to walk down the road.
Henry: I was just five when the cordyceps hit. My memory's still pretty hazy, but I remember living in a neighborhood just like this.
Ellie: What do you remember?
Henry: Ahh... barbecues. Parent, they would throw these crazy big barbecues and invite a ton of people. You know, I remember the smell more than anything.
Y/N: Barbecues, huh?
Y/N looks at the photo and gives out a little smile. Y/N would then remember mostly grilling the deer meat while Claire kept taking eating them.
Y/N puts the photo back in his pocket and they continue walking.
Ellie: Oh. Doggies.
Joel: You're gonna wanna stay away from those. It's not like it is in the zone. These are wild.
Ellie: What is this?
Sam: Oh, this is an ice cream truck.
Ellie: An ice cream truck?
Sam: Yeah, Henry told me about these. They'd sell ice cream out of the truck.
Ellie: What? No way. Joel?
Joel: It's true. This thing would drive around and play real loud crepph music and kids would come running out to buy ice cream.
Ellie: You're totally fucking with me.
Joel: Um-mm. Serious.
Ellie: Man, you lived in a strange time.
Joel: Told you so.
Y/N, Ellie, Joel, Sam, and Henry drop down. Y/N gets shot on the left arm by a sniper and he falls to the ground.
Ellie: Y/N!
Y/N: Fuck, that hurts!
Joel grabs Y/N and pulls him next to them.
