"I don't tell you what to say.
I don't tell you what to do.
So just let me be myself, that's all I ask of you.
I'm young and I love to be young.
I'm free and I love to be free,
to live my life the way I want,
to say and do whatever I please."

Years went by as the sibling grew. Iduna aged slower than most Asgardians, who already aged slower than the average mortal. As Thor and Loki grew to look in their twenties, Iduna's appearance made her look in her teenage years, which made some people doubt her skills. She learned how to heal wounds with just the touch of her hand, although doing this drains her energy since she is giving it to the injured person. Which is why Iduna can't resurrect anyone, without killing herself in the process, a life for a life.

In these years, Iduna also trained like a warrior. She made a few friends on the way, one of them being Sif, who ended up being one of the best warriors in Asgard, considering she was a woman. When Iduna trained, she was strong and fierce and always told herself that it should end with her sword pointing towards the chest of a man, with his hands up in surrender. Iduna even bested her brothers a few times, who of course were a little phased by it but were also proud of her.

Loki learned some magic from his mother, though, he became quite the trickster with his gifts. Thor continued to fight and have many triumphs and glories, just like he promised. He grew to become a king and each day Loki grew more jealous of Thor's path to the throne. After all, Thor was too reckless and arrogant for it. Iduna wanted the throne as well, but for what she can do for Asgard, rather than just the title of queen. But she was always proud of Thor. Of course, Iduna and Loki grew closer as siblings in the years, even though she noticed him changing from his jealousy of Thor.

Although Iduna's fighting skills were one of the best in Asgard, Odin forbid her from going to battles with her brothers. Iduna obviously protested against this, especially because it added on to her limitations as the Princess of Asgard. Everyone said it was for her safety, but she knew she could handle herself. But when Iduna stayed on Asgard while her brothers fought the battles she wish she could fight, Iduna spent her time in the healing room. She helped heal the sick and injured, of course Iduna had to rest afterwards since it drained her, but she loved it. It gave her a chance to help the people of Asgard.

Along came the day of Thor's Coronation to become King of Asgard. Iduna stood before the fire place, staring at the flames. She wore a light blue dress and cape, similar to her mother's. As Iduna looked at the fire, the flames started to form into a phoenix. The majestic and fiery bird flew across the dimly lit room, slowly flapping its wings. Iduna smiled, knowing what caused this as her eyes followed it, till she faced a tall figure in the doorway.
