This can hurt, and in all honesty be one the the hardest things.
Goodbye is not always easy, it's the ending of a chapter, the ending of many words and memories that were gathered. Memories of good time can make saying goodbye especially difficult. Even after the goodbye, those memories persist and can cause little spouts of sadness and missing of those good times.
Sometimes, we don't say goodbye, we just leave without a word.
That can be even harder then saying goodbye
