[46] How he likes to cuddle {Contest Winner}

Naruto

Naruto, unsurprisingly, is an incredibly affectionate person. He craves physical touch, no matter how brief or small, and never misses an opportunity to cuddle with you. It happens so frequently that it's almost subconscious - for both of you: a brief squeeze of your hand as he passes by, a gentle kiss to your forehead, an arm wrapped around your shoulders as you walk together through the village. But when he really wants to cuddle, regardless of what you may be doing in that moment, he will simply pick you up in his arms and sit down somewhere so he can hold you for a bit. 

Sasuke

Sasuke will never outwardly say that he "wants to cuddle". He shows his affection in ways that are much more subtle. For instance, the proximity with which he stands or sits near you. Some days - most, actually - he prefers to spend time in his own space: reading in the living room, sitting quietly outside, training in the woods. Other days are different. You've noticed his tendency to seek affection from you, rather than showing it towards you himself. He does so in the way that he stands close to you as you talk, almost touching but not quite. Or when he sits right beside you, his leg and hip pressed to yours, rather than sitting somewhere else. In these moments, you know that he wants you to reach out. To hold, touch, and comfort. To place yourself in his arms that are "conveniently" open to receive you. Because, as it turns out, his subtleties are not so subtle.

Kakashi

Kakashi cuddles in a way that is both predictable and basically routine for you. In other words, cuddling with Kakashi is essentially a daily and regular occurrence. Your alarm in the morning, rather than the obnoxious bleating of a clock, is the comforting feeling of Kakashi pulling you close to him. Though he wakes much earlier than you, he is often late due to his difficulty with letting go of you in the mornings. And by the end of the day, regardless of how late he comes home or how tired may be, Kakashi will not sleep until he's held you in his arms. For him, holding you helps erase the stress, pain, and frustrations of even the worst days. 

Shikamaru

Shikamaru is basically a grouchy old man in a young person's body. PDA isn't really his vibe (he finds couples that are always touching hard to stomach), but for you he tries to let his affectionate side show a little more than usual. His favorite pastime is lounging around - whether at home or outside - and he appreciates that he's able to do so while spending time with you. Often, he will wordlessly place himself beside you and rest his head in your lap or the crook of your neck. And though he loves to hold you close, his favorite way to relax is nestling himself against you where he can doze in peace. 

Shino

Shino surprisingly loves to cuddle. He's never really been an affectionate person, but mostly because he's never found someone to show affection to. But you, you make him feel comfortable in ways he didn't know was possible, and as a result he loves to hold you close to him as frequently as possible. Though public affection makes him feel a bit awkward, Shino often surprises you with his boldness - your favorite moments were those in which he randomly hugs you from behind to hold you against his chest, with his chin dropping to rest on your shoulder. He often does this as you take your time browsing through shop windows or food booths, much to the surprise of his teammates when they tag along. 

Neji

Neji is a very tender person despite his outwardly cool demeanor. He shows his affection for you often, especially during the quiet and intimate moments when the two of you are alone. Most times, he will let you know when he wants to cuddle by opening his arms wide and waiting for you to fall into them. In those moments, he'll hold you gently and quietly, often running his fingers through your hair or along your arms until one or both of you fall asleep. 

Gaara

Gaara loves to cuddle for two reasons in particular. One, he loves holding you as close as he can as often as he can. And (more importantly) two, cuddling allows him to hold you still long enough for him to get some rest when he needs it. There is no telling what mischief you might get yourself into on a daily basis, especially now that Kankuro was somewhat of a co-conspirator of yours. The two of you were always plotting some strange, usually dangerous, antics while Gaara was working. It was exhausting, though he supposed it did keep Kankuro out of his way during the day. Regardless, in those rare moments of exhaustion, Gaara preferred curling you into him while he relaxed, appreciating the peace and quiet for however long he could get it.

Kiba

Kiba, to put it bluntly, is a Stage 5-fucking-Clinger. In other words, he never leaves you alone. Never. Always touching, grabbing, and holding you somehow. Like a toddler, but adult form and way stronger. At times, it is endearing. He gives phenomenal hugs and is the best person to comfort you on your bad days (especially when Akamaru piles on you both for snuggles as well). Other times, you could strangle him (and sometimes you have). Kiba knows exactly which buttons to press and when to press them to get a rise out of you - which is exactly why he does it. His clinginess is nothing more than entertainment for him. He loves to see you get riled up and angry - it's funny, but also really hot. However, he can reel it in at times. Those are the special moments that you catch in glimpses, where his cheeky grin softens into a smile of adoration, and he holds you tenderly instead to his chest. So, there. He doesn't always piss you off.

Sai

Sai doesn't really get the whole "cuddling" thing, though he has come a long way. Gone are the days of his awkward, stiff hugging (at least for the most part). Instead, he has grown to appreciate the experience of holding you as an opportunity for observation. He takes note of each breath and heartbeat, of the goosebumps and shivers when he strokes your arm or hair. He also notices his own responses, comparing them to the moments where ripples in a lake gradually smooth out, eventually returning to a state of unbroken calm. It is for these reasons that he has started to initiate cuddling far more than before - to simply observe and experience, and to appreciate the beauty of your connection.
