Deku just says sike at the end of the narration of being the number one hero in bnha then the end of the series it cuts to him standing over the bodies of heros while the city is in flames and bnha sequal series is basically explaining how everything went sour for deku and his breaking point was (like in a lot of fanfic) his mother being killed or all might dying
