Mac

Sure enough Griz guided his bike into a space in front of the compound. I wanted to say that I was going to explain everything, but I don't have the energy to. If my mother pushes me hard enough maybe I'll tell her the whole story, but that means she's going to have to be honest with me too. She isn't telling me something. I can feel it.

"Mackensington Lee! You better explain yourself!" My mother yells storming out of the front door pissed.

She used the full name so I knew she knew. Someone must have called Blake or her and told them where I had been. Snitches.

"Hey mama." I say trying to calm her down.

"Don't hey mama me young lady. What happened to I have homework and I will stay out of trouble. From what I hear, Griz stopped you from getting your face smashed in again."

She didn't have to remind me about that. That was a low blow and even she knew it since she opened and closed her mouth as guilt ran in her eyes.

"I'm sorry." I say tilting my head back and willing the tears I felt trying to sting free not to fall.

"Why did you go back there?" She asks calming down.

"I don't know mom. Why didn't you tell me about the fucking fact that four King's walked into our house while you were there, tagged the place up. Left warnings and took my shit? So you asked me why I went back to the Striker, well there you have it. I needed some cash." I growl out through gritted teeth as everyone gathering around us started to whisper like school girls.

"You know about the King's?"

"It's not hard to figure out. I'm guessing that's why you didn't want me going back to the old house. Besides I got left this."

I hold the note up and her eyes drop to it before coming back to me.

"Shay? What shit are you guys in to?" I hear Blake asks and my eyes swing to him.

"I've got it under control." Is all I say.

I don't need bikers coming in and saving me all the time. This is mine to clean up.

"It's because of the accident isn't it." Mom didn't answer her boyfriend.

Instead her eyes were locked on the note still clutched in my hand.

"If we're calling it that, then yes." I say.

"What the fuck is going on?" Blake yells making mom flinch and my eyes narrow on him.

"Calm the fuck down and stop yelling, you're scaring her." I grit out my voice low and deadly.

I know I should respect my elders and all that shit, but I didn't care about that. Mom is the only thing I have left in this world and I can't loose her again.

"Everyone inside, and someone explain." He pleads and I know I'm not saying anything.

We go inside, but Blake tells Chase to take us to his office, and a few minutes later Harper, Tank and Griz were taking up space in the office along with Blake.

So the attention falls on mom. She bites her lip before facing Blake.

"Mac wasn't studying abroad in England for a year and a half. She was in Juvie."

So that's what she told them. Fun. Always loved the stories.

"Shay are you sure you want everyone to know?" Chase pipes up coming to stand next to me.

She glances at him and nods.

"I can't have Mac running out to get herself almost killed again." Mom sniffs looking at me and I shrug.
