A single match

Like a match striking on the fifth or sixth try is how it feels to meet someone with whom you genuinely feel a connection.

You're frustrated and discouraged and you want to forget it all. Like the head of the match is all but worn as you turn it subconsciously as you go through this repeated motion. You're not expecting anything.

That instant spark when the match catches just right. It feels the same when you find someone that speaks to your soul.

To be aware of you brand of weird and to meet another, to look into a mirror and find a separate soul that gets you. Another crazy. You hate that term. But it's almost laughably accurate. They understand on a level that no one else gets.

The problems that were barriers seem not to matter. You ignored this before. You used to ignore this person despite the connection. But what damage could one tiny match do?
