This chapter is dedicated to hedgehog4ever who encouraged me to publish this and was my first reader.

Tengwar is the alphabet most commonly used for all elven languages. There are 36 letters; twenty-four that have standard Arabic numeral counterparts, plus twelve that are specific to Tengwar. This can be really difficult to learn to write in, and I have nowhere near perfected it. Give yourself time, patience and grace. Just like how there is no one way to write Arabic numerals, there is no one way to write Tengwar; every elf will have their own handwriting.

Personally, I would start writing how we print our letters, disconnected and a little sloppy. Once you have mastered this (which I have not yet) you can move on to connecting your letters in a way similar to cursive. It is not required that you write in Tengwar to be fluent in Sindarin, by the way. You can write in our standard Arabic numerals and still be considered fluent, the Tengwar just adds a bit of a challenge for those who seek it. I would recommend learning the language itself before you worry about learning the alphabet. That is where I made my first mistake, and I am now leaving the alphabet alone until I am more solid in my sentence forming.
