Quick Arthur's note:
Lmaoo not me posting chapters so late at night 🙈
Uh so this chapter is sort of more angst I guess? But I'll make sure to write more wholesome moments in the next chapter.

Silence, so much silence surrounded him.
The darkness engulfed him.

And then.. It was all gone.

"Take good care of him.."

Wait...
California stood in a small tent, muffled voices surrounded him making it difficult to understand what was going on, but deep inside he already knew.

"Don't worry, he'll be fine with us. "
That voice..

Oh no..out of all places why here!?

Someone, someone so familiar but yet so unfamiliar, grabbed his arm and began to drag him away.

"I don't wanna leave.."
Those words came out of his mouth involuntarily, as if he was just rewatching someone's memory.
That someone was him..

"Mexico please don't let them take me! Please!. "
He tried to yank his arm free.

Mexico looked away, he looked so numb and tired..

"Stop struggling kid. "
The young state struggled against more arms.

Then.. The tents flaps closed, his world shattered.

"Please..."

...

Everything went black..

"Stop crying kid, you're better off here then over there. "
Again that voice..

The darkness disappeared and through his teary eyed vision was a crouched a man.

DC.

But not exactly DC,
Something was different about him, maybe the way he wore a uniform, and the way he looked almost emotionless, ready for war..

Then it clicked, of course , he had joined the U.S during their civil war.

"Take me back.."
Again, that came out involuntarily, replaying his memory.

"Unfortunately we can't do that, Mexico doesn't want you back. "

He glared at DC,
"Mexico would never say that! "

"But he did. "
That smile..
Darkness engulfed him again.

..

This was a horrible idea..

The worst idea possible, what was he thinking.
Running away from DC during a battle, idiot.

Adrenaline and fear filled his body as he ran, he ran as quick as his 13 year old body could take him.

His ear drums rang from the gunshots being fired around him.

Union soldiers swerved around him, some to busy to pay attention to him, others yelled at him to find some place safe.

He ignored them and the bodies he would come across.
So much blood..

All he wanted was to go home-

"Watch it!"

California almost tripped over his own feet as he tumbled back.

That voice sounded very familiar.
