I walked into the familiar building a little wary. I looked out for the short woman, just in case she still had it out for me.

"Ocean?" Carina smiled as she approached me and I clutched my handbag tightly, offering her a tight lipped smile.

"Hey, Carina," I greet. "Is Trevor here?"

"Yes, he's in his office."

The tattoo parlour was Trevor's favourite business out of all the others he owned, I guess it's because he was surrounded with people who came from the same background as him.

His mother didn't seem to be around, so I relaxed slightly, following Carina as we entered his office.

"Carina, ti ho detto di non darmi fastidio sono w- Ocean."

(I told you do not bother me I'm w-"

I nod at him and he leans back in his chair. He had his work attire on but his tie laid on his table, along with his jacket, leaving his bulging muscles staring at me through his white shirt.

"This is a surprise."

"You love surprises." I say sarcastically and he chuckles. He glances at Carina who was standing in the corner of the room  and she sighs quietly before leaving and shutting the door behind her.

"How are you doing?"

"Stop bullshiting me, Trevor. What're you doing here? In America?"

"Wow, so hostile," he chuckles, then looks around and raises his palms. "I'm working."

"Where's your mother?"

"She went back to Italy, where her family is. You didnt expect her to stay here forever did you?"

"Fair enough, but, what do you want with me?"

"I'm not sure that I understand what you mean."

"I saw you." He raises an eyebrow, placing a finger on his chin as if he had no idea of what I was talking about.

"I saw you looking up at me from the streets Trevor."

"I was passing by and I-"

"Are you stalking me?" He laughs and I clench my jaw.

"Because i will file a restra-"

"Go ahead then!" He shouts and I jump. His composure had completely changed, he was no longer calm and composed.

"What is wrong with you?" I snap. "I literally told you the other day that I wanted no part in your drama, yet here you are, pulling me into it once again!"

"I am doing no such thing." He scoffs.

"I'm not going to ask you to stay away from me again Trevor, there is nothing, between us, focus on your fiancee." I stand to leave and he roughly stands as well, his chair flying into the wall.

"How can you do that?"

"Do what?"

"How can you pretend that you're the better person when you're the one who left ME?!"

"I left you because of what you did Trevor, I needed my space."

"And I gave you your space!"

"And you came back ENGAGED! What the hell do you want me to do Trevor?" I stared up at him, flabbergasted.

He shuts his eyes, and let's out a loud breath.

"Look, I.  . . I want you to be happy, Trevor, but more importantly, I want to be happy. And you came back here, with a new woman, a fiancee, who's also coincidentally a therapist and I'm not saying that I'm angry because of that, I'm just saying that you can't expect me to skip along the beach with you as 'friends' or whatever it is that you're asking. It doesnt. . It doesnt work that way."
