As a few days pass by the incoming threat of more demons seems more like a hoax than anything else, none came. Draven inspects the house at least twice a day though, once when he wakes and another before bed. It makes my mother feel safe but it makes me nervous. If a demon like him is so unnerved that he has to inspect the house then there is obviously more going on than what I think.

Jake pulls me from my thoughts by tugging me to him, we are sitting on the couch watching a movie which is a new normal. That's another thing, a rather confusing thing to be honest, it seems as if when Jake is around that is all I can really think about. Lately, he is always around but never at the same time as Draven though that's rather odd if I might say.

He doesn't seem to want to meet Draven, which is fair. The man, well demon, can be a bit intimidating. Anyway, the more time passes the more attention Jake focuses on me. Don't get me wrong, I adore the attention, like any normal fey, but when he isn't around it just feels weird, almost wrong. "I'll be back tonight. I love you!" My mom calls out before slamming the door behind her. She's been spending time with her best friend, Maggie Kelter, helping her with her new study. I can't remember what it was about besides that it required a lot of her time to be spent at Maggie's house or office. I just give Jake a small smile before turning my attention towards the movie.

Jake nudges me shoulder playfully. "Hm?"

"Why does he call you a little fairy?" The question stuns me as I try to rack my brain for a lie, any sort of lie that could make sense as to why the demon gave me the stupid little pet name without actually revealing that he is a demon and I am a fairy. I don't think that is something that would go over very well right now or ever. Jake is staring at me rather intently as he waits for my answer like he is waiting for me to just give him what he wants. "You two into some kinky roleplay?"

I scoff at that while rolling my eyes. "We have never-" I pause forcing a laugh to make myself lighten up. "We have never been together and we never will. He's my brother's best friend, he's just Draven."

"I didn't ask for your opinion of him and I already knew that he was your brother's friend."

"His best friend. Gotta remember that part," I add jokingly but he just narrows his eyes at me, obviously not finding it funny. "It's super embarrassing but when I was younger I dressed up like a fairy princess a lot and it's just something he enjoys teasing me about."

He gives me a rather cocky smile before locking away. He slowly licks his lips before pulling me even closer to him. "That wasn't so hard to admit now was it?" He asks and I shake my head but he just chuckles. "I find it rather adorable to be honest."

"I don't," I groan but he just turns me to him. The way he looks at me is like he is trying to figure me out by just staring.

"Keep being honest with me, Okay?" He mutters and I nod my head as a sinking feeling takes root in my stomach. The familiar pain in my eye slowly starts to make its presence known. "Now, is the only reason you two havent ever dated because of your brother?" Why is he so interested in my relationship with Draven?

"We are two completely, I mean it seems like we are two completely different species. He's so dark and moody and that isn't really my thing, ya know?" I say catching myself. He slowly tucks a strand of hair behind my ear while licking his lips once again. His thumb is gently stroking my chin as he looks deeply into my eyes, those stars in his own appearing once again.

"So he wouldn't get mad if I keep doing this?" He asks.

"Doing wh-oh," My question gets cut off as his lips make a trail along my jaw. "I-I don't believe so." I sure hope not.
