-little time jump about 2 months-

There was a knock on my door. "Coming!" I yelled, jumping out of bed and pulling on the closest pair of pants. I hoped it was Bryce. I hadn't seen him in a few days because of my crazy schedule.
I opened the door to Trevor, my landlord.
"Oh, hey, Trev. What's up?"
"Kate, you're behind on the rent. Again. You know I normally let you slide, but I didn't even get an explanatory text this time."
"Shit, sorry, Trev. I've just been so busy with school and work and-"
He interrupted me, shaking his head. "You know that I have social media, too, right? I'm only twenty-five. I see you posting TikToks and getting interviewed by Hollywood Fix."
"I'm sorry, what does that have to do with my ability to pay the rent?"
He shook his head again. "I know you haven't been working. You've been here for three months, Kate. You weren't even on time with your security deposit. I can't keep letting you slide. Come up with the rent today, or find another place to live. I'm sorry." He turned and walked down the hallway without another word.
I shut the door behind him and walked mindlessly back to my bedroom. I certainly didn't have this months rent laying around, but I didn't have another place to live either. I made my way to the bathroom to take a shower when the phone rang. I answered the FaceTime immediately.

"Bry! Hey, baby!"
"Hey, Katey Kinz. How are you, sunshine?"
"A little better now. Trevor just stopped by. I have until the end of the day to pay the rent or he's kicking me out."
"I'll loan you the money."
"Bryce, no. I can't and won't take money from you."
"Then come live here with me. It's not much farther from campus than the apartment you live in now. And it's rent free."
"Really? You mean it?"
"Of course I do."
I knew I should think about this, but I rarely thought about anything when it came to Bryce. "Okay, I will."
"I'll tell the girls. Do you have class today?"
"Nope, I'll start getting packed."
Bryce blew me a kiss and hung up.

A few hours later, everything I owned was in boxes, ready to be taken to the Sway house. I sent the group chat a quick text.

As I pulled up to Sway, the boys were piling out of the house

As I pulled up to Sway, the boys were piling out of the house. I put the car in park, and they instantly began unpacking it.
"Thank you, boys!" I yelled after them as Nessa came outside.
"Hey roomie!" she joked, as she pulled me in for a hug. In the few months that I had been here, Nessa had truly become my best friend. "I know that it's your first night living with your little boyfriend, but we're totally having a slumber party, and you have to be there!"
"Of course! I wouldn't miss it! Where's Bryce?"
As if the mere mention of his name could make him appear, Bryce stepped out of the house.

"Hey, mamas! Is it just me or do you look even better than the last time I saw you?" he asked, pulling me into his token warm embrace.
"It's definitely just you," I joked. "Did you guys eat yet? I bought some groceries for the house. I can make dinner."
Kio had just returned from taking a box upstairs when I finished my offer. He looked at Nessa. "When you moved in, you didn't offer to make us dinner. You just yelled at us for going to McDonald's."
"That's because I can't cook," Nessa replied, laughing. "Better check yourself, though, Mr. Cyr. I'll have Kate spit in your food."
Kio feigned surrender and grabbed another box from the car. When Noah came back down, he grabbed the last box and shut the trunk.
"Hey, Bryce, thanks for helping us move all your girl's stuff in, man!" Noah yelled jokingly.
Bryce laughed back. "I'm more of a supervisor, my guy."

We went inside the house and ran straight into Blake and Amelie.
"Hey, chica! Feels like I haven't seen you in forever," she said, hugging me.
"It's been two days," I laughed.
"Fair enough," she replied, laughing as well.
"I'm about to make dinner. You guys should stay and eat with all of us."
"Whoa, free dinner? Say less!" Blake replied, while we all laughed.

Nessa and Amelie followed me into the kitchen, where we found Mads, Addison, and Cynthia. After a chorus of "Hey, girl!" I got to work making dinner.
"Ooh, smells yummy. Whatcha making?" Avani asked, entering the kitchen.
"Just chicken Alfredo. Nothing too special," I replied, stirring the sauce.
"Bryce was not kidding. You really are wifey type," Dixie commented, pulling herself up onto the counter.
"Wait, what?" I asked.
"Oh, shit, I don't think you were supposed to know that," Dixie said, desperately trying to cover her tracks.
"No, I'm not mad. Just surprised."
Amelie jumped in. "He doesn't mean anything bad by it. He just likes you a lot."
It was Addison's turn to interject. "You must be really important to him. One time, an interviewer asked him if we would get married, and he blew up. If he's describing you that way, you're in luck."
My heart skipped a couple beats. I had already worried about where things were going to go with Bryce. This whole conversation made me feel just a little bit better.

As the girls continued talking, dinner was done.
"Boys! Dinner!" I called out. It was like a stampede. Bodies were running everywhere as each couple found seats at the table. Kio stopped me as I was bringing plates to the table.
"I hope you don't mind, but I invited a girl that I've been seeing over to dinner."
"Of course, Kio! The more, the merrier!"
I turned to greet her and was shocked.
"Oh my god, Sarah! Hi!"
Everyone was silent, until Griffin spoke up.
"Wait, you two know each other?"
