-the next morning-
"Hey, have you talked to Tayler recently?" I asked, rolling over to look at Bryce.
"Yeah, I called him a couple days ago, why?" he asked me.
"He just tweeted that he's moving out. Figured he would have said something to you."
Bryce shrugged. "I'll give him a call. I'll tell him about the engagement while I'm at it." He got up from the bed and stepped into the bathroom to make the phone call.
I looked down at my ring and smiled. God, I really love this man. I snapped a quick photo of it, posting it to Instagram.

Bryce came out of the bathroom. "All of Hype House is moving, not just Tayler."
I nodded. "I just thought it was weird. We don't see much of him anymore."
"Want me to text him and ask him to lunch?" Bruce asked, getting back in the bed next to me.
"If you want to go to lunch with him. I'm gonna start wedding planning," I replied, rolling out of his grasp and getting up.
"Already? I thought you wanted to wait," he replied, sitting up.
"The perfect wedding waits for no one, Bryce," I replied calmly, leaving the room.

I stood in front of their door nervously. Just knock already, Kate. This is ridiculous. Finally, I knocked.
"It's open!" Josh's voice yelled from inside. I walked in cautiously, shutting the door behind me.
"Good morning! Just came to talk to Nessa about something," I said, sitting in the chair next to their bed.
Nessa sat up slowly. "Shoot. What's on your mind, babes?" she said groggily.
I was nervous again. "Did I wake you? I can come back."
Nessa shook her head. "Josh woke me up an hour ago to tell me some story about Ani Energy. Some new flavor or something. I don't know."
I laughed at that. Bryce had tried to tell me about it, but I told him that I was too tired and he would have to tell me later. "I want to ask you something. It's okay if you don't want to, you can say no. It's just important to me, and when I think about it, all I see is you, so I guess what I'm trying to say is will you be my maid of honor?"
Nessa was suddenly wide awake. "Oh my gosh! Of course! I would be honored! I can't believe you even considered me!"
"You're my best friend, goofball. You're the only person I considered."
We hugged. "I want to ask the rest of the girls to be bridesmaids. It's really important to me that I guarantee that all of you are there with us on our wedding day."

As I maneuvered through the house asking each girl, the reactions were varied.
"Me? Your fiancé's ex-girlfriend? Are you positive?" Addison asked in disbelief.
Sarah was also shocked. "Oh my goodness! Of course!"
"I thought you'd never ask," Dixie joked with a wink.
Amelie was beyond sweet. "This is such an honor. Are you sure?"
"Thank you so much for asking me! I would love to!" Avani exclaimed excitedly.
Mads' surprise wasn't expected. "I've been like the worst to you. This is insane."
"Yes, yes, yes, a million times yes!" Cynthia yelled, hugging me before I was even finished with the question.

I found Bryce in the kitchen when I was done. "Wedding planning part one was a success, my dear," I said kissing his cheek and grabbing a water from the fridge.
"Oh yeah? What'd you do today?" he asked.
"Found my bridesmaids. What did you do today?"
Bryce chuckled. "Not a whole lot, apparently."

-a few weeks later-
"Bry! You have a minute?" I asked, closing the bedroom door behind me.
"I have all the minutes," he said, pulling his shirt off in one swift movement.
"Not what I came in here for," I laughed, throwing his shirt back at him. "I want to talk dates."
"Why don't we get married in December?" he asked. "We can do it either right before or right after Christmas, since everyone's families will be in town."
"You are a genius, my love," I said, kissing him. "I want to do a metallic color scheme, is that okay?"
"I told you, babe: I'm happy if you're happy."

I found Nessa in the kitchen quickly. "I'm making an appointment to try on dresses, and I obviously want you to go with me. I'm going to ask Dixie, too. Is there a day that doesn't work for you?"
"Girl, I will cancel plans if it means I help you find the dress of your dreams. Make it whatever days you want."
I asked Dixie, and her answer was very similar.
I texted our group chat.

Friday afternoon, Dixie, Nessa, and I piled into Nessa's car and drove to the boutique. The clerk pulled dress after dress off the rack, sending me to the dressing room with what seemed to be half of the store.
The first dress was a total flop. "Not to be rude, but that is the ugliest dress that I've ever seen," Nessa said scrunching her nose. "Try something else."
I hated every dress I tried on. "Why are these all awful?" I asked, storming back to the dressing room after what felt like the hundredth dress.
"Just keep trying!" Dixie called out.
Frustrated, I put on the next dress. When I looked in the mirror, I knew that this was it.
When I walked out of the dressing room, Nessa and Dixie both stopped talking and stared at me.
"Um, Kate?" Nessa said.
"Yes?"
"You have to get that dress! It looks so good on you!" Nessa replied, standing up to take a closer look. "The lace, the back, everything! It's perfect, Kate!"
Dixie nodded in agreement. The clerk stood by. I looked at her. "What do you think? I mean, they don't pay you to judge me, but I feel like my friends are just saying that because we've been here for hours."
She laughed. "I agree with them. That's our last one, so I would decide soon."
