"Ouch!" Alfred exclaimed, curling in on himself, his hands firmly pressed against his stomach.

"Another kick?" Ivan asked, tilting his head. He walked over and pet his hair, kissing his temple gently.

"No..." Alfred mumbled, "feels like my body is trying to kill me."

Ivan stood over him for a second, his face full of confusion. He counted on his hand what day it was- two days before twenty weeks exactly.

"Are you in labor?" he asked, and Alfred glared up at him.

"Better not be," he replied, before curling in even more on himself and whimpering.

"Hang on, I'm getting Rulyn," Ivan said, rushing out of the room. He knew he shouldn't be leaving him alone but he didn't know where to- he almost knocked on the door to Rulyn's old room, and he paused. It had become a nursery. He turned around. He was so scrambled that he didn't remember where her new room was.

Ivan remembered just before his brain shut off, running over and banging on the door.

"What, the hell, do you want?" she said, opening the door and glaring at him.

"Somethings wrong with Alfred!" he exclaimed, and she rolled her eyes and walked over to their room, opening the door. He followed a little ways behind her, watching as she walked up to him. She had him sit up before she pressed against the top of his stomach.

"Do you feel anything?"

"Just... like... jelly feeling," he muttered, "like when you push your finger through jam."

She moved her hands and did it again, "Anything?"

"No."

Again, at the lowest portion of his stomach, and he hissed in pain. She moved her hands immediately after that, brushing them together before putting them in her pockets.

"Congrats," she said, "you're in labor."

Alfred's eye twitched slightly, and Ivan looked like he drank forty 5 Hour Energy's.

Rulyn walked over to him and pulled Ivan out of the room. Alfred groaned and went back to laying down, starfish over the entire bed.

Ivan was hopped on adrenaline. He felt like he was going to burst.

"Okay, so this will last- hey, you listening," she put a hand on his shoulder, and he looked back to her, "this will last for around three to five days and there are about five stages."

"What are the stages?"

"I was just about to tell you, ya' dingus," she rolled her eyes, "he will be in the first stage for about twelve hours- the first stage is just what he's doing now. Basically, his body is just starting to dissolve the armour it made around his stomach.

"You need to be careful about the second stage," she continued, looking around the hallway for a quick second to make sure nobody was listening, "You know how he acts in heat?"

Ivan nodded, a slight redness going up to his ears.

"Ya, well, he'll act like that, but the problem is he can't have sex. If y'all do anything, well, he'll literally die. Doesn't matter he's a nation, he's dead," Rulyn crossed her arms over her chest, "this only happens to demons when they have their firstborns. Their bodies get too damn hormonal and everything goes out of whack. You should be able to get him to sleep through it. Lasts about four to eight hours."

"What happens next?" he asked, making notes in his mind. God, he should probably write this down.

"The first stage again, but more intense. That's the third stage. He'll need to eat and shower and stuff. Lasts around twenty-four hours," she yawned, "not very fun I'm told.
