You know how Allister can see ghosts? Well, I like to think that there's this one ghost who was a school's speech therapist in his lifetime who helps Allister come out of his shell bit by bit.
They met when Allister was just wandering through the Stow-on-Side cemetery and he suddenly ran into this ghost man. "Oh, hey there, little buddy," said the ghost man. "My name is Steve. What's your name?" All the young, shy ghost-type gym leader could get out was, "...'M Allister."
"You're quite shy, aren't you?" asked Steve. Allister nodded. Steve stopped to think for a moment.
"You know," Steve began. "I used to work at a school here in Stow-on-Side. I helped shy students like you be able to talk to people. Would you like me to help you?"
"...I-I'd really like that, thanks," Allister answered.
Now once a month, when Allister's not facing gym challengers, Steve helps Allister come out of his shell bit by bit.
