Update #7: Good Riddance

Hey there Snickdoodle!

Let us take a walk down memory lane, it's three yeas ago. Joy is in the throes of writing A Secret Service, her mind it alive with scenes and side characters. She is entranced with how wonderful Donovan is and how all the world is falling over him.

We zoom in and see a line of annoying, air-headed girls waiting to be rejected by him.

NOW FREEZE! 😳

Yes, I hope you are staring motionless at the screen with your mouth open waiting for me to break you from the spell. Well, you can unfreeze now cause I don't want someone walking in and seeing you looking like an idiot. I know I'm already the caused of that before.

(I apologize to most of you who have been sent too the asylum cause you laughed out loud or cried and your whole family thought you were mad)

Anyways, let's go back to the moment we've now metaphorically frozen on. The line of ridiculous girls. Ah, the cliches that make me want to puke because I decided I should put a million of them in and make them as dumb as rocks. 🙄🤦🏽‍♀️

Let's unfreeze and jump to the future that is today, to a changed Joy. To an author who has seen the error of her ways, who has looked back and seen the idiot that she was.

Yes, that author of today has decided to cut/down play those idiot girls that pissed off so many of my readers and let's face it, pissed me off as well.

I hope you will forgive my younger self, the one that put those girls in because her head was warped by cliches. She has learned her lesson.

Even though, yes I'm cutting some of the girls (Like our dear dear Gabby in the second chapter. Yes, she is gone now, RIP Gabby), not all can be cut. Some have to be kept because they act as a plot device and a foil for Carter. But, I've cut down the amount and I've changed it so the entire school is not drooling over Donovan. It's more like four main girls who are really attracted to him.

I'm hoping these changes help to not piss off so many people. Cause I get it, Carter is savage and those girls were unrealistically stupid. I see that and apologize for it.

And I know, some of you are bummed because there are lines Carter says that are hilarious, but let's face it, Carter is unnecessarily cruel at times. Too many times.

Will Carter still have some good comebacks, yeah! She wouldn't be Carter if she didn't. But will those girls also have some equally cutting remarks for Carter? Yeah, so yay! Everyone has the chance to be mean! Woohoo!

(I know some of you are going to ask me to keep certain lines but I have to tell you something, some of the lines I cut are for a reason. This book is now going out to the greater world, the world of bloggers and Youtubers. If I don't want them to absolutely be insulted by the book I realized I had to make changes that I already knew the book needed. I hope you can understand this)

So, I'm looking forward to seeing what you think of the changes and hoping you'll let me know what you think when the book is published!

It's a better world people! Okay...so it's a world were there are less girl idiots, but I guess that's all we can really hope for! That and an author who doesn't make the same mistake!
