Update #6: What Is Carter Thinking?!

Hello there, Snickerdoodle! (This is more delightful if heard with a Scottish accent)

Here it is! The moment none of you have been waiting for because you didn't know it was a moment you should be waiting for but since it is a moment worth waiting for I've decided to give you the moment that was worth waiting, now that you know it was worth waiting for.

(Does your brain hurt yet?)

Yeah, well welcome to my life because when it came to writing Carter I never once stepped into her head. Because let's face it, my character is about 100 times smarter than I am and so I felt I couldn't portray her thoughts accurately.

Instead, I felt I could only play the lone role of observer, following my character along her journey and noting down each action and expression but never the thoughts that spurred them.

(I was like the proverbial fly on the wall where the wall, the subject of interest and the entire world were of my own making and so why I was on the wall and not standing is brought into question but it's not really a question I think we want to know the answer to)

Well! I have some amazing news! After about writing a bajillion one shots and plummeting the depths of Carter as she faced some crazy situations I feel completely confident with being able to express her thoughts.

So this is the moment you've been waiting for...a change that you will actually like and not mildly try not to hate me for...

WE GET TO LEARN CARTER'S THOUGHTS!!

That's right, in this version of Carter we can glimpse some of those internal thoughts we so desperately wanted in the Wattpad version. Those moments like when Link and Donovan are first introduced and Carter senses things are off.

Bear in mind that for the most part what Carter thinks she just blunts out and questions, so there isn't the amount of internal monologuing you find in most other teen fiction books. But that's Carter for you, she just won't stick with the norm!

Joy, you say that like I ever planned to stick with the norm.

Well, Carter I know you didn't but this area you could have involved us a little more into your thought process.

Why? My thoughts aren't for you. I shouldn't even be letting this book get published.

You can't stop me, I already hired a cover designer!

And we all know you're broke so that must have cost you something important.

Only my first born, but since I don't plan on getting married I thought it was a solid trade off.

I fear for your future children.

You shouldn't. I won't have any. And if I did, the first one will be taken.

You really don't want to know what I'm thinking about you right now.

Probably not. Can you please go away so I can finish this blog?

Fine, as long as you admit that you can't express all of my thoughts because they are still beyond you.

*holds breath*

Phew! She felt! Gosh that was embarrassing.

Whatever, be happy, we get to see some of Carter's interesting thoughts! And hopefully not mine at the moment because they are not very pleasant towards my very rude, interrupting character!
