48. Astral world: Part 2

Neith can see the man leaving. Making it possible to look for her mother. This time, she uses her powers to search even faster. Sometimes from a higher level to oversee it all. The only thing she doesn't do is asking the people. 

'You better hurry up.' 

She teleports herself to another place and she notices that he follows her. 'What is your name?' 

'They call me Eliphas,' answers the man. He doesn't trust her and wants to keep an eye on her. 

'Neith,' she replies. 'I'm going as fast as I can. I know you want me gone.' That is no secret. She can see someone climbing the stairs. 'Isn't that Yuma?' 

Eliphas follows her finger and disappears. 

To smile faintly. 'You keep him busy, Yuma.' She moves to another part of the city but no sign of her mother. Hearing a sound that seems out of place, she looks where it comes from. Now to see that Yuma uses a monster to get closer and can see a plane. Not that it lasts long or the plane is getting destroyed. So far, no sign of her mother. Quickly, she searches further. But nothing. The center is something she's going to now. 'Last place,' mumbling she walks down. All the way down, hoping to find the prison cells. Which doesn't last long or she reaches the end. To find out that there's nothing there. 'Well, that was a waste of time.' Due to an explosion, she looks up. 'A duel?' Transporting herself to the top floor of the weird building, she can see Yuma and that he duels Eliphas. 'Good luck Yuma.' She knows enough that she teleports herself back home. Figuring out that she got herself back to Barian world instead of back to Celeste. 

'Neith.' 

She turns to where the voice comes from. To see Dumon standing next to a woman and a man. The man is more purple and the cape, tells her enough that she bows her head a little. 'It's good to see you again, Nash?' 

'It's good to see you too. Dumon told me everything about your life on Earth. I have one question, whose side are you on? Do you know Yuma?' Nash remembers her.   

'I've met and dueled Yuma but that doesn't mean anything. As long as I have Celeste with me, I don't care.' She knows the woman as Marin. Someone she met a long time ago. Even before they disappeared from Barian world. 'Did you tell him about Mizar?' Her eyes go to Dumon. 

Nash's eyes glow. 'He did, it was surprising to hear that you gave the Number cards to Yuma instead of us.' 

'With the right intentions to end this war. Astral lost his memories and every Number card represents a memory. I was trying to understand it all.' Neith knows well that Nash would want to talk about it. 

'I've heard about your past and how much you are against war.' Marin looks at her. 'How much have you lost?' 

'Everything. My hometown, my friends...' Her eyes dart away from the throne. 'If it wasn't for my sister and parents. But now I've lost my father and my mother is still missing...' 

Dumon never forgot that she wanted to jump and puts his hand on her shoulder, looking at Nash. 'What if Mizar is responsible for her missing mother? He might want to have leverage over her to get her collecting Number cards? So far, only we know who Neith is.' 

'Alito and Girag came to my office.' She lets them know. 'However, only a few know everything about me. That would be Celeste, Dumon, and you, Nash.' 

'What if I ask you to choose between Astral and us?' Nash can see that there's something between Dumon and Neith. 

Neith knew that he would ask her that. 'I prefer no war at all. What about the human world? They didn't ask for this and I live there with my sister. I am the CEO of the company.' 

'Dumon mentioned it.' Nash nods. 'You are Barian and for that, you should be on our side if we face Yuma and Astral. I'm asking you to choose between us and Yuma and Astral.' 

She looks at Dumon, who almost invisibly nods to her. 'Will my sister be safe?' 

'Yes,' Nash stands up from the throne. 'Where are the others?' 

'I'll call them...' 

'Dumon.' Mizar shows up and he's not alone. Alito and Girag are right behind him. 

'Nash!' The other three bow their head to him. 

Nash likes to see them as well. 'You are no Emporer and for that, you listen to us.' 

'I'm willing to listen to a few of you. Some haven't exactly earned my trust.' She knows Mizar is behind her. 

'You again, I'd like to know who you are.' Mizar demands it instead of asking while turning the woman. 

Nash turns his head to Marin. 

Marin gives a small sign with her head. 

Which is all that Nash needs. 'Kneel,' he says to Neith. 'I'm making you an Emperor. You are valuable to us and your influence in the human world.' 

Surprised Neith kneels on one knee as she can see that he takes his sword out. 

'You have sacrificed a lot and you still do.' He touches her shoulders with the flat side of his sword. 'You are also diplomatic and don't judge until you heard both sides. That makes you valuable as an advisor. Rise, Neith Alastair, you are now an Emperor.' 

'What?!' Shocked Mizar looks at the woman, who now gets up. 'Neith!' His eyes glow bright yellow. His eyes glow bright yellow. 'You never said that you are...'

 'Leave her!' reacts Nash. 'Your allegiances lie with us now, Neith.'   

Neith knows that she's safe from Mizar with Nash and Dumon close. 'And my sister, you should understand that.' 

Marin takes a step closer. 'What if your sister chooses Yuma's side?' 

To shake her head. 'He might be a friend to her because she's in his class. She'll never choose him over me. Family means everything to her.' 

Mizar watches in silence. 

'You are one of us now,' smiles Alito. 

Even Girag likes it that there is another woman. 

'What about your boyfriend?' Dumon asks. 

'That is over.' Neith knows there is too much going on. Also too much has happened and with the few secrets, she could never tell him. 'He'll find out soon. It's over when he sees me.' Somehow, she knew it would never last long. 

Nash puts the sword away. 'I miss Vector and when he's here, we go to Earth to Yuma and Astral.' He starts a signal and sits on the throne. With his sister next to him. Waiting for Vector to show up.
