an hour had passed since the barbecue had started, and everyone was still having a good time. akira and kenma never left their spot on the small hill, and during the time that had passed, they would either have brief conversations, or just sit in silence.
hinata and lev had sat with them for a while too, which meant that akira and kenma was forced to socialise with them more. after the two left, akira and kenma were back to their comfortable silence.
akira didn't mind not talking to the pretty setter, there wasn't much to talk about anyways. she barely even knew him, so she was bound to stutter when she talked to him.
she hated stuttering, so she was almost glad that they didn't have to have a detailed conversation.
"u-uh, kenma." akira said, making kenma's eyes meet hers.
she looked at them too for a second, it felt like she was getting drowned in a pool of honey. his cat-like features were so..
pretty.
"earlier... y-you were about to g-give me your username s-so we can play animal c-crossing together." akira recalled as she scratched her arm.
"oh yeah.." kenma said nodding.
she perked her ears up to make sure she caught the username he would give her.
"it's applepie..." kenma added simply.
akira froze.
apple pie. it's a normal pastry right? lots of people like it? it may just be a coincidence. maybe kenma spelt his differently? apple can't really be the only person to have that username right?
kenma was taken aback when akira didn't do anything after he said that. she just sat there with wide eyes, seemingly shocked.
"u-uh, cool. i g-gotta go, be right b-back!" akira squeaked, bolting away from kenma and to a quiet spot behind the building.
