Everyone had a different opinion on what the greatest moments in life are. From someone reaching a certain, graduations, having a first child, getting married, or buying a new car... Those were great achievements if one came from nothing, but that was never the case for her.
She came from a well-off family, she never lacked anything, and by the time she reached the age of eighteen, she had already begun paving her own path in the world.
The greatness she had come to embrace, was standing tall in front of her enemies, with the knowledge that she would ruin them. Samantha Grayson loved the thrill, the threats, the blood, and the chase; and nothing excited her more than facing new challenges.
She always wondered what it was about Cape Town that had Jorge running home every other week besides the skirt he left behind, but after finding out about MJ's kidnapping and recent events, she knew she wanted to see it for herself.
It was exactly the kind of environment Samantha needed, to be surrounded by people who played in the mud; it was golden compared to the boring streets of London where she had to hide who she was.
Here she could be herself and do whatever she wanted, she was going to show everyone who kept her in a cage just exactly what she was capable of.
"Either you are simply playing around or you have a death wish."
Samantha stopped in her tracks and turned around with a smirk plastered on her face. "Ah, Jackson!" She chuckled, taking off her shades. "I was wondering when you finally show yourself," she admitted, staring up at the big guy standing right outside the hospital entrance.
She knew he was in town and that he had been following her around, but she had done the same with him.
"You are messing with the wrong people, Samantha," Jackson warned.
She scoffed indignantly and crossed her arms. "Don't you get tired of being other people's puppet? First it was Alastair, and now MJ."
The guard narrowed his eyes at her. "It is called loyalty and knowing how to pick your battles."
"Loyalty?" She mused, taking a step closer. "Where was the loyalty when Alastair died?" Jackson tensed, his jaw ticking as he looked down at her. "Will MJ still thing you are loyal when she finds out that you are in cahoots with her ex?"
Jackson shook his head and bared his teeth. "Your obsession with that guy is going to be the end of you."
Samantha rolled her eyes and chuckled in mockery, waving her hands in the air. "Blah blah blah... You said something about choosing your battles well, now I'm warning you; stay out of my way, you don't want to go into war with me." The feeling that rose in her chest as he backed away was satisfactory, she would be damned if she let anyone get in her way.
Once he was out of sight, she flipped her hair dramatically and entered the hospital, heading straight to Jorge's ward.
She stopped a few feet away when she caught a woman standing at the door, without intending to, she pulled down her white shirt and smoothed out invisible creases on her pale blue jeans. Samantha felt intimidated, because the woman looked elegant without even trying, from her silky black hair, her white to olive skin, and her small fine body; she was naturally fabulous.
Samantha fixed her hair and straightened her back before approaching her, she was about to greet her sweetly when a familiar piece of jewellery caught her attention. "That's a very beautiful ring," she said, her eyes fixated on the ring she chose in Jorge's house a few months back.
She could not believe Jorge went ahead and proposed to this woman.
The owner giggled and lifted her hand, admiring the jewel. "Thank you," she said. "My fiance picked well."
Samantha's heart hardened when those words hit her ears, that ring was supposed to be hers, she picked it; she was supposed to be Jorge's fiancee, not her!
She faked a smile and extended her hand forward. "My name is Samantha."
The woman smiled brightly and shook her hand. "I'm Sonya, nice to meet you."
"The pleasure is all mine, dear," she said and gave a firm nod before walking past the room.
She had hoped to see Jorge again, but it was difficult since MJ's arrival, she left strict orders to not let anyone in; anyone except his fiancee. But Samantha would find a way to see him no matter what.
For now she had important matters to attend to.
She arrived at the ward she was looking for, where the patient was packing up her stuff, getting ready to leave. "Hi, I'm not sure if I'm in the correct place, but I'm looking for Carmen."
The woman in the room dragged her breath and turned around, her shoulders slumbed. "What is it? I've already paid off the bill," she said gruffly, her head held slightly high due to the cask around her neck.
"Oh, no!" Samantha waved her hands and laughed. "Relax, I don't work here."
"Well then, how can I help you?"
Samantha smirked deviously. "Actually, I was hoping I could help you." She stepped into the room and put her handbag on the bed. "I can help you to make the people who put you in here pay for what they did to you."
Carmen's face changed. "What makes you think I need your help?"
"Both MJ and Logan Parker used you in their war, and you ended up losing everything." Samantha circled the girl, thinking of everything they could accomplish together. "Don't you want them to make them pay?" She asked.
This girl lacked ambition, she had a lot to gain, but she did not see it. She had all the power to control MJ and Logan, the two of them valued their reputations more than anything, and if anything threatened that, they would either bow or neutralize it.
Carmen's biggest weapon at this time was the media, if she played her cards right, she would have Logan wrapped around her finger.
"What's in it for you?" Carmen asked after some time.
"Me?" She sighed dreamily. "Don't worry about me? Do you have a place to stay?" Carmen cast her eyes to the ground, her cheeks turning pink.
Samantha was about to make a suggestion when someone else beat her to it. "You can stay with me."
"Demi?" Carmen rushed forward and hugged the new arrival.
Demi pulled away and turned her attention to Samantha. "Logan Parker and MJ Billings ruined my sister's life, and now she's nowhere to be found. I want to see them in ruins," she declared fiercely, and Samantha nodded in approval.
She climbed off the bed and stood in front of her new friend, she liked this one. "Well then, Demi, it's settled then," she said and shook her hand, her heart doing somersaults. She had just made a new friend, someone who shared her vision and had a motive.
This was more than just about ruining her sister's life, there was more to the story, but Samantha was not going to dwell on it yet.
She had taken the first step to getting what she wanted, and what followed was going to be turmoil, pain, and destruction.
She was going to make them all suffer, and by the time she finished, there would be no one left to tell the story.
Logan Parker and MJ Billings were about to be history.
