No Turning Back Part 2

Back at the Hunter Camp Monica was sitting at her pervious spot. She noticed the group come in and greeted them

Monica: Your Majesty, I assume that the Marshall gave you the necessary information

Noctis: Yeah

Y/N: So, where's this fort we're supposed to smash?

Monica: Your enthusiasm is greatly appreciated, but we have formulated a plan to take the base by surprise

Y/N leaned over to Ignis

Y/N: Sounds like you Iggy-

Ignis: *sigh*

The group went towards a specific location that Monica had pointed out. They arrived at a small choke point that had a crack in the wall just big enough for one person to squeeze through. In front of it, Cor stood stoic as ever

Cor: You are here at last. This mission is very important. If we fail... We lose our only access to the rest of the continent. Here is the plan: Ignis, Prompto and Gladiolus will create a distraction at the front gate while me, Y/N, and his highness will sneak into the inside

Y/N: Welp, looks like this is goodbye for now

Gladiolus: Don't let anything happen to him

Ignis: I side with Gladiolus

Y/N: Don't worry, I'll keep him on a short leash

The others went off to their objective while Y/N, Noctis and Cor snuck into the heart of the base

Cor: I expect there to be some resistance on our way...are you sure you can handle it?

Noctis: Weren't you the one who was "satisfied with my strength"?

Y/N: He's got you there

Cor:....

A few Imperial Troopers were on guard but the three were easily able to defeat them. Moving further ahead they made it to the Imperial Checkpoint where more guards were. They wiped them out swiftly and Y/N went to open the front gate... It wouldn't work

Y/N: Oh come on, work you stupid piece of...

Cor: Heads up!

An Imperial Dropship hovered close to the three and a voice echoed from it

???: Well, if it isn't Cor, the Immortal! So, you survived the Citadel. Well, you won't survive what I have in store for you. It's high time that your legend comes to end!

An imperial Dropship hovered close to Y/N and Cor and it's bay door opened up revealing a Mech that was bigger than the other ones the group had fought. Imperial Officer Loqi could be seen hoppin, into the pilot seat and powering up the Mech

Loqi: You both will die!!

The Mech jumped out and landed with a great BOOM making the ground shake beneath Cor and Y/N's feet

Cor: You up for this?

Y/N: Always, Noct?

Noctis: Hell yeah!

*epic battle pose or something idk 🤷‍♀️*

Y/N struck first and striked the Mech's leg causing it to stagger only slightly. The metal plates were tough and didn't give way easily. With Loqi distracted with Y/N, Cor took the initiative and proceeded to jump onto the top of the Mech and stab the Mech's internal ammo bay repeadetly resulting in an explosion. Noctis decided to attack the other leg dealing consistent blows to it's weak points

Loqi: No! Damn!

The explosion caught Loqi off guard and he lost control of the Mech which keeled forward... Vulnerable

Y/N chose his blows precisely and went for the weak points at the joints and the back plating. Cor had slashed off one of the Mech's arms entirely leaving it with whatever it had in its missile launcher and it's remaining Vulcan Cannon rounds. However, Loqi was stubborn and wouldn't give up. He regained control and rose up even with a very damaged Mech. It fired a volley of missiles which were aimed at Cor. He had no problem bashing and slicing them out of the way. Using the missiles as stepping stones, Y/N moved closer and closer to the canopy of the Mech and landed on it. He began to punch through the thick glass in an attempt to get to Loqi  who was terrified at the sight of Y/N trying to force his way into the cockpit. The glass gave way and cut at Loqi's face. He was then grabbed and thrown out of the seat as Y/N cast a lightning spell that fried the circuits of the Mech whilst back flipping away and landing neatly. He gave Noctis a high five while chuckling to himself

Cor: Impressive, seems that I don't need to worry about you or the Prince anymore

Y/N: You? Worry? Pshh

Cor simply stared at Y/N

Y/N: Wait you're serious?

Prompto: YOU GUYS!!

Gladiolus: YOU ALRIGHT!?

Ignis: GOODNESS ARE YOU UNHARMED?

The other 3 friends came sprinting into the checkpoint clearly terrified of all the noise caused by Y/N's battle with the Mech

Y/N: We're good. You missed the best part actually

He put a hand on Noctis's shoulder

Y/N: Little prince here made short work of this dude *pokes Loqi's still body*

Noctis: No w-

Y/N: He did pretty good, wouldn't ya say, Marshall?

Cor: Hmph, he did a satisfactory job. Still room for improvement

Noctis silently thanked Y/N in his head

Cor: Well, this is where we part ways. It's clear that you really don't need me to look out for you all. You have a good team. Keep it up

Noctis: What'll you do?

Cor: Go back to spying on the Niffs. Try to make out their next move...and have a little chat with our friend here *pokes Loqi*

Ignis: A pleasure working with you, Marshall

10 minutes later...

Gladiolus: Aint so bad once you get used to this place

Prompto: Still a bunch we haven't seen yet

Ignis: And much work for us to do

Gladiolus: Buck up we're just gettin' started

Noctis: Oh yeah

Y/N: We'll be ready, though. With all of us here we could take on the entire Army

Prompto: Gotta love his optimisim

Y/N: Not optimisim my dear boy. It is TRUTH

Some words cannot be heard as the group continues to bicker...

(A/N: YO YO YO YO ACE IN THE HOUSE. HOW YA'LL DOIN' TODAY!? I'm kinda doin fine rn some problems here and there but generally I'm good. I didn't force you guys to wait so long for this chapter did I? DW, you won't have to anymore. I'm gonna be working on this way more now and I sure as hell hope that these turn out good. Anyways, in other news looks like my Hollywood Idol Arnold Schwarzenegger got Heart Surgery. Poor guy, but at least he's doing "fantastic" according to himself. Also, I'm working on a Resident Evil 7 story for Halloween and all that so we'll see ho lw that goes. Most likely I'll release it around October 31st so stay frosty and stay safe ya'll. Ace out)
