"Welcome, to Casa De Shinso."
"Why is everything purple?"
"I like purple."
"Fair point."
Shinso's room was a part of a larger building; one not quite mansion-like but also not small by any means. Purple banners and colorful posters of various pro heroes littered the gray walls. The room was surprisingly clean except for a hoodie of Shinso's that was strewn across a small purple armchair in the corner of the room.
The floor consisted of dark oak planks, and in the middle of the room sat a small yet fluffy black carpet. To the right was Shinso's bed; a light gray comforter sitting neatly on top.
Shinso motioned for Deku to step inside. Deku - not wanting to mess anything up - decided to awkwardly walk to the middle of the room and stand on the rug. Even that felt like a sin. To be in somebody else's home was trespassing to the growing boy because as a child he was never allowed to visit any of his friend's houses. Granted, Deku knew he needed friends for that to work anyway.
"So..." I started shyly, "whatcha wanna do?"
Shinso locked eyes with me for a moment before an exuberant grin lit up his tired face. "I- would like to do this."
Without warning, he plopped himself on the ground and laid on his back. Right on cue, seven cats of varying colors, shapes, and sizes plowed into the room and attacked the both of us. I say attacked, but what I really mean is they snuggled up next to Shinso and wrapped themselves around my legs, almost forcing me into a squatting position.
I lowered my body to meet the cats we "stole" from the cafe as Shinso's hearty laugh echoed around the rather empty room.
"Well aren't you just a cutie," I chuckled.
Shinso responded, "I know right, they're so adorable. Cats are my favorite."
"Actually, I was referring to you-" As soon as the words left my mouth I glanced away, only catching sight of the blush that crept its way up Shinso's neck. The room became silent except for the purring of the cats, and Shinso managed to get the few off of him so he could sit up. I looked back to him and mumbled an apology while stroking a Maine Coon's fur.
"No, it's okay...I uhh- didn't mean to make it awkward by not responding," Shinso let out a strained laugh, his hand traveling to the back of his neck and staying there.
I glanced out the window in search of something to talk about, my eyes being met with the gradually dimming light sparkling through the window.
I cleared my throat before speaking as to not make a fool of myself, "It's almost night time, and I should probably be back in say...two hours?"
Shinso looked over at me and mouthed the word "oh" before his eyes turned a vibrant shade of purple. "I have an idea, follow me."
Giving me no time to protest, Shinso grabbed me by the arm and literally dragged me out of his room. I lost tripped over the doorframe because it was slightly elevated and the little rascal dragging me gave me no time to get my bearings. We traveled through the long hallway and passed a few doors until coming to a spiral staircase. At this point, I snatched my hand away from Shinso.
He only spared a second before racing up the silvery stairs. "Wait for me!" I called in a desperate attempt for him to slow down.
I leaned over to still my spinning head before slowly making my own way up the stairs. I knew that if Shinso dragged me up them, he'd probably have a costly medical bill of mine to pay, so I figured stopping for a moment would be best. Going up the stairs dizzy probably would not have been the best idea...especially when the stairs go up and in a circle.
