The Chevrolet Corvette (C7) Z06 was the more civil variant of the C7 ZR1 monster and the last front engine Corvette to be built. The production started in March 2014 while the last front-engined Corvette left the factory on 14th November 2019 to be replaced by the Corvette C8.

The huge 6.2 litre supercharged V8-front engine sits behind the front axle where it produces 659PS and 881Nm. With the 8-speed AT (optional with 6-speed manual), all the power gets transmitted to the rear wheels.

Because of often struggles with traction, the acceleration from 0-100km/h takes 3.8s even though it probably could be way faster with that engine. The potential is shown by the top speed of 315km/h which also is limited because of some downforce generating components.

With a weight of 1618kg, the Z06 is the heaviest C7 Corvette. The powerful engine reimburses for that though, because the power weight of 2.46kg/PS is one the same level as some high performance supercars from Italy or Germany.

For more downforce, Chevrolet attached a carbonfiber spoiler for more rear axle stability which also costs some speed but makes the car safer
