I don't need to be told what usually happens and what doesn't happen. Comment, but keep that part to yourselves :) (for the ones that like to debate and compare actuality) long chapter ahead...
Days later
India
I was awaken by Chris shaking me, excitedly yelling my name.
It took everything in me not to immediately get up and haul off of him.
"They—I'm—I got an offer!" He yelled
I sat up, I wasn't all the way tuned in reality yet so my brain couldn't wrap around what offer he could've been referring to.
"What are you talking about?" I asked, glancing at the time, "It's 9 in the morning. I was up all night."
"I know that but this couldn't wait so, yeah, I got an offer. An offer from like a company or something. I don't think it's a label, but it's something around it. They like my voice." He said
I smiled, "I'm not surprised. I know you have an amazing voice and I'm glad others could see it."
"They want me to come in next week and talk to them, show them some more of my work—stuff like that."
I got up to hug him, "I'm so happy for you." I said as I laid on his shoulder
"I knew you could do it, now can I go back to sleep?" I asked
"Of course."
When I laid back down and got adjusted under the covers, a question came through my mind.
"When do they want you to come in? As long as it isn't on our wedding date."
He playfully rolled his eyes, "It's not."
Then he started frantically looked around and tried to sneakishly look at a wedding invitation that sat around.
"It's on the 15th." I said and rolled my eyes
"Right." He said and tossed it back down.
I turned over and dozed back off.

A day before the wedding"Are you sure this dress looks right around my stomach?" Lauren asked me as she smoothed it out over her body
"Yes. It has to look right—that's what everyone else is wearing, well at least it's the color."
"The maid of honor can wear something different, she's standing out from the others anyway." She smirked
"I'm so mad that you still allowed Anaya to be a bridesmaid." She added
"Hell, I am too! But, my mom literally was begging me to include her, so I did. Tell your cousin thank you for filling in for mine cousin at the last minute for this as well, my family never can show for anything." I explained
"It's no problem, but don't make it a big deal. It'll still be a full house despite that one missing person." She said as she continued to observe the dress
She sighed, "But anyway, are you nervous? It's tomorrow."
"You know I'm nervous. I hate standing in front of a lot of people, let alone being the center of attention."
"You'll do fine, just take back like a shot or two before hand."
I laughed, "No, I'm not tryna be drunk on my wedding day."
"If I get married, I will." She chuckled
We walked around for a dress that was appeasing to her since she decided at the last minute that she hated the dress she initially picked out.
