I Won't Say It (T'Challa Udaku)

Chapter 17

Shuri's lab was probably my favorite part of Wakanda. It had a direct view into the mines where the Vibranium was and they had more than enough to last two lifetimes. Shuri was so smart she made me feel like I was in remedial science. I would pay big money to see her and Tony go head to head, but I defiantly have my money on her.

We started with the ingredients for the serum and started to work backward from there we managed to antidote for at least two of them but the main component the one that we think is actually controlling his brain once the words are spoken. We just co9uld crack that one. We worked together until around 3 in the afternoon. We were going to stop for today then start all over tomorrow, after tomorrow if we don't make any breakthroughs, I was going to bring in the book

"So, you make all of your brother's gadgets and things."

"everything but that outdated suit of his but I'm working on a new one so we can get rid of that one."

"What's wrong with it?"

"He designed it so to him it's like the best thing ever, but it doesn't work until he puts on the helmet! It's just old so I'm fixing it." She said I laughed

"Well I can see the problem with that."

"Thank you he doesn't listen." She said as we walked out the ab

"Oh, trust me I know that." I said shaking my head and she stopped and looked at me with a smile

"So, do you like him?" She asked and I laughed

"No." I said

"He likes you; I can tell."

"We are just friends."

"Hmm is that why he skipped over all the place healers so you could take care of him?"

"I am not doing this with a 15-year-old!"

"I'm very mature for my age." She argued and I laughed

"I know Shuri I can see that but there is nothing going on between me and T'Challa."

"If you say so but I'll get it out of one of you."

"Come on you silly girl." I said wrapping an arm around her and she laughed we walked to the dining room.

The Next day

We still couldn't figure this out Bucky stepped up to volunteer the two antidotes we had but they didn't work.

"Alright let's stop for today I have to talk to Steve." I told her and she nodded looking at Bucky's brain waves from the test we did earlier

"Ok, I'm going to finish up here." She said and I went to find Steve, he was in the gym boxing

"Hey." I called out he stopped and looked at me

"It didn't work," He stated, and I nodded

"Some changes to the areas effected but they were only temporary. I know you don't like it, but we need the book"

"You think you've exhausted every option?"

"You more than welcome to take a shot Dr. Rodgers." I said sarcastically

"That's not what I meant but if your sure this is your last resort let's do it. I just don't want him to give up, to go through everything for him to have to go on ice."

"I know we're trying our best but we're going to need that book. You can come sit in the lab while we use it if that makes you feel better."

"No, I trust you know that. I'll get the book to you in the morning is that ok?" He asked and I nodded

We had a big dinner tonight the tribal elders attended because they wanted to meet us, but I think we all got the sense that they just wanted to know when we would be leaving. Privacy was more valuable than vibranium in this country. After dinner we headed back to our room but T'Challa stopped me

"Go ahead I'll catch up." I told Nat who nodded with a smile then she pushed Sam who was watching us like a hawk down the hall

"Would you like to take a walk with me?" he asked I hesitated

"Please?" He added with a smile

"Ok." I said and he took my hand I felt a small spark, but I just shook it off, that happened sometimes with my powers, but I also noticed how he didn't feel anything. He led me outside into a garden that could rivel the garden of Eden

"This is so beautiful!" I said looking at all the beautiful flowers, moving towards the hydrangea because they were my favorite

"My mother grew this entire garden herself."

"Wow and I kill all of my plants." I said and he laughed

"That is awful." He said

"It's not really my fault I end up being called away on a mission or something then I gone for weeks and they die." I said with a shrug and he laughed, and I laughed with him

"Then why do you keep buying them?"

"Because I like them, and their good for your living environment or whatever. Mostly because my nana had a green thumb too. She had this one plant that been growing for over 20 years now. I wanted it but Pops wouldn't let me take it."

"Good." He said and I hit his arm

"You just attacked the king."

"Oh, are going to arrest me now?"

"I might I know you have warrants." He said and I pulled my hand away

"That is not funny." I said walking ahead of him, he wrapped his arms around my waist from behind

"Stop." I said trying to pull away, but he held on, being is his arms felt nice as much as I hate to admit it. I turned in his arms and faced him I looked in his eyes they were warm and filled with caring emotions that I wasn't ready to deal with. I tried to pull away, but he pulled me back and kissed me. This kiss was even better than the first one, I wrapped my arms around his neck and wrapped his arms around my waist and pulled me closer. Then I came to my senses and pulled away

"I know this is fast, but I've never felt this way about another women." He confessed I shook my head

"I'm not what you want." He cupped my cheeks

"Yes, you are."

"I don't... I'm not enough you need someone better than me."

"Don't put yourself down that way, you are an amazing woman and perfect for me I believe in my heart the Bast brought us together."

"You barely know me, I'm a mess."

"I don't know who put those doubts in your head, but they're going to stop. I want you to see what I see when I look at you."

"T'Challa we won't be staying long."

"I'll take what I can get I just need one chance." He said and I looked away

"You've been hurt I can see that in your eyes, they carry a lot of sadness and pain. Give me a chance to be there for you." He said and I just leaned in his kissed him for once giving into my feelings without worrying about the consequences.
