"are you sure you're okay?" billie asked for the millionth time today.
"yes, i'm fine, princess."
it's now sunday, two days since i got my concussion. dr. merritt told me i would be fine if i just take things easy for the next few days. i have a doctor's note allowing me to skip school on monday and tuesday, which is nice.
billie has been taking care of me since we left the hospital and has made sure that i'm okay. i, understandably, scared her when i randomly passed out friday, so she's just been extra careful and cautious.
"i just wanna make sure you're good." she sighed softly.
"i know, and i'm glad you are, but i promise i'm fine." i gave her a small smile.
i grabbed her hand with my left one, interlacing our fingers, and gently moving our hands from side to side on the top of the table. "i love you."
"i love you too, mama." she smiled.
i looked down at my notebook, seeing the drawing i just finished. i closed the notebook, then looked back up at billie. "yo, you wanna help me slit my eyebrow?"
"sure, let's do it."
i grinned as i stood up. i made sure billie was following me before walking to the upstairs bathroom. once there, i looked through the cabinets.
"i was sure there was an eyebrow shaver in here." i mumbled. i sighed as i gave up looking for it. "i guess we'll have to run to the store real quick."
"i'll drive." billie offered.
i nodded, heading back downstairs to grab a pair of shoes. i grabbed a pair from my closet, sitting on the edge to pull them on. my brows furrowed as i got a sudden pain in the back of my head, and i brought my hand up to rub at it.
