he waited.

sangyeon waited and waited, and yet, neither eric nor y/n came back. he bit his lip and looked down at his shoes, sighing to himself.

"sup, hyung," hyunjoon swung an arm around his shoulders. sangyeon shook his head.

"nothing much," he mumbled. hyunjoon quickly noticed sangyeon's unusual behavior.

"something's wrong," he began, keeping his eyes on sangyeon and observing as the older one's shoulders stiffened. "what happened?"

sangyeon sighed. "eric and y/n haven't came back,"

hyunjoon stared at sangyeon for a few minutes and then burst out into a loud chuckle. "why are you worrying about that? eric probably had to go to the washroom too, that's probably why they're taking so much time," he consoled.

sangyeon bit his lip. "we can only hope that's what happened,"

hyunjoon kept silent.

sangyeon took out his phone, and his brows furrowed when he saw y/n's name at the top of his message list. his frown deepened when he saw that he was the one who had sent the messages.

"what the hell?" he mumbled, reading through the messages.

sangyeon:
hey y/n, come to the lake in the park

sangyeon:
we're waiting for you over there

y/n:
ah okay, we'll be there in a few minutes :]

sangyeon's mouth went dry.

he didn't remember sending these messages, he was 101% sure that he asked them to get back to where they originally were.

that's when he remembered something.

- FLASHBACK -

"uh, hey," a boy pat his shoulder. sangyeon turned around, eyebrows raised.

"yes?" he asked respectfully. "may i help you?"

the boy bit his lip, tilting his head. "i found this phone over there," he pointed at the bench sangyeon and the rest of the boys sat on a while ago. "and i had seen you and a few of your friends sitting there, so i was wondering if it was your phone or one of your friend's."

sangyeon looked at the phone in the boy's hand. "ah, this is my phone," he took the phone gratefully, passing the boy a friendly smile. "thanks. i'm lee sangyeon," he introduced, bringing his hand out for a handshake.

the boy smiled as he returned the gesture. "bae hoyoung. nice to meet you,"

the two boys talked for a bit, and sangyeon found out that hoyoung and the rest of his friends studied in the same school, but at a different section. that was probably why he hadn't seen him in school before.
