35. Slowly Fading Away

Katou Julie's eyes widened as the memory ended. He remembered. He got up from his spot and went into his room, locking the door as his face twisted and purple mist surrounded him in his rage.

"That woman..." He seethed, bending over. "How could I forget??!"

Julie's arm swept his desk, knocking over the items sitting on it. The aura surrounding him was intense and some of his family could feel it from outside. Adel walked over and knocked on the door.

"Julie? Are you-"

"Don't come in!" He shouted, gritting his teeth. "I'm fine!"

"But-"

"GO. AWAY!"

Adelheid flinched and backed away from the door, silently walking down the hall to the others.

Julie heard the footsteps fade and took a deep breath, the mist fading away. His face stayed twisted as he paced around his room.

He had existed for so long after death that most faces had become a blur for him. The people he possessed had passed on, their faces long forgotten. But in his first life, most faces were as clear as day but... her. She seemed of little importance, even as Giotto's girlfriend at that time, so he had erased her from his mind. She was never a threat back then but this young lady that looked like a clone of that woman... Satsuki, was it? A young girl with the same face as that Liliana... She may pose a threat...

She knew his name... Daemon Spade...

He needed to get rid of her.

The Vindice left, disappearing behind a wall of smoke. I heard a sniff from behind and turned around, seeing Lambo tear up. I immediately pick him up and try to soothe him as he started bawling.

"I wanna go home!" He cried.

"Shh, it's gonna be okay, Lambo." I pat his head and sway a little in attempt to ease his crying.

Gokudera and Tsuna watched me with wide eyes.

"Ryohei was just taken away by a bunch of monsters!" He continued crying.

"Gokudera-kun," I turn to him, "do you have candy for Lambo?"

"Yeah..." He glanced at me before reaching into his pockets. "How did you know?"

I can see Tsuna panicking a little behind Gokudera as I take a piece and hold it in front of Lambo, giving a small smile. "I know you prepare for stuff like this."

Lambo's eyes shined and he reached for the candy piece, looking at the rest of the candy in Gokudera's hands. "Arara? There's a bunch of different flavors! Lambo loooves all of the candy."

"Eat one at a time." Gokudera ordered.

"Amazing, Satsuki-chan! You got Lambo to stop crying." Tsuna complimented.

"I have a little brother, remember? Besides, he wouldn't have calmed down if Gokudera-kun didn't bring candy."

We continued our walk through the island. The sun was setting and Lambo was falling asleep from all the candy he ate. I could tell that Tsuna was thinking about Ryohei's sacrifice and smiled a little, a little jealous of that bond.

Reborn huffed. "Hey, Dame-Tsuna, how long are you going to keep thinking about Ryohei?"

"Well... we came here for Yamamoto, Chrome, and our friends, right? But we already had to give up nii-san as a sacrifice... if that's the case, then what did we come to this island for..."
