나를 볼 수 있습니까, (y / n)?

Kusuo twirled his fingers on the cloth that he was busy fidgeting with, his lips pursed into a thin line as he tried memorizing the fabric's texture. Its roughness brushed against his skin yet he wasn't getting bothered by it since his sight was strained on a certain figure.

The moon successfully embarked the dominance that it proudly upholds above the skies, the hour hand plunging deeper into the night along with it. Bright strokes of yellow pierced through the boy's windows before it dispersed into his carpeted bedroom floor and created a masterpiece of an art. Despite this, his attention was still deeply knitted around the (h/c)-nette who was being pooled by the small light which was emitted from her old mp3 player.

It was unbeknownst to (Y/N) how Kusuo seems to be in a state of pure tranquility while observing her subtle movements. She was currently bopping her head to the rhythm of the music, her hand patting on the boy's study table as she imitated the sound of the beating of drums.

"Ah, hey, Kusuo!"

The owner of the said name flinched as he was abruptly snatched from the little strolling that his mind was performing. He simply cleared his throat in response to this and it was accepted as a sign for her to continue her sentence.

"I heard that you and some of the students were prohibited to join your grade level's annual dance tonight because of an infirmary incident. Are you alright now?"

"It was nothing serious. Our moderator just thought we had some kind of a flu that's why she just advised us to stay at home."

"Yikes. Well, on the bright side, at least you don't have to deal with unnecessary extra activities that the school made just to have something to put on their calendar." snickered the young girl as she turned around on the computer seat playfully. A huff has then puffed out of her lips while standing up to give herself a good whole minute of stretching.

"Is it actually okay for you that you're restricted to join the one and only dance that you have in high school?"

"Why would I not be okay with it? The others are just a pain. This is a win-win situation."

(Y/N) shrugged her shoulders upon receiving such response from the strawberry-haired boy. Her fingers immediately clutched on her friend's desk as she guided herself into walking closer towards him, the giddy grin adorning her face never faltering in the process.

"Now that you missed your chance to enjoy your dance, would you mind if we recreate it here?"

The newly released words were a slur to Kusuo as he tried to process it, however, it was impossible to do so when all he could focus on was her hand being extended for him to hold. Despite her eyes never meeting with his, he could still partly see how it's gleaming with authenticity and unfiltered joy. It was peculiar how it seems to be sucking him into a prison of swirling vortex yet for a very odd reason, he was not intending to escape from it soon.

He inched his fingers and he can't believe on how slow it felt like. The wind deliberately tried to push him into moving faster, his shoulders wrapped with an invisible grip as he finally stood up from his former sitting position on his bed.

With her skin now brushing against his palm, he couldn't help but to feel it nipping and igniting a fire in his stomach like the infamous flint and stone. The sensation was pretty much foreign to him but amidst all these, he still looked nonchalant and composed.

(Y/N)'s childish beam contorted into a small close-lipped smile upon feeling Kusuo intertwining his fingers with hers, her mind taking note of the metal texture that was around his ring finger. She hummed to this while putting her left earphone on him as the song playing on it was now heard by the boy as well.

"Teach me how to do dance, will you not?" And with that, she placed her free hand on one of his shoulders. This caused the young male to tilt his head in an attempt to take in the music and immerse his self with its lyrics and tune.

"Hey, (Y/N)... Can we.. do it more up-close?"

A pair of purple irises inflated as bright as the fluorescent light cascading the room once he has realized his own words that he have delivered shamelessly. The rising of his body temperature seemed to travel all over him since the girl also felt it when his hold on her hand tightened.

"You're the one teaching me. Everything depends on you, you know?" Kusuo sighed with her reassuring statement and it seems like a huge boulder was lifted away from him.

Gingerly, he snaked his arm around her waist until it reached the small of her back. He applied a little of his strength to pull their bodies closer towards each other, their chests now pressed and their faces just an inch away from one another.

His eyes strolled around the enchantment that her beguiling features were offering, the futile beats that his heart was making now beginning to get dangerously loud. He cleared his throat first before positioning his head beside hers and placing his cheek against hers.

Kusuo started to move his feet in accordance to the rhythm of the song without breaking the closeness that existed between them, (Y/N) trying her best to follow suit with his pace.

The feeling of the skin on her cheek pressed on him was one of a kind. It was enough to persuade him into closing his eyes and tilting his head in a certain angle to rest his temple on hers. The once choking sentiment of pity that he suffered for his inability to control his own actions dispersed away and all he could comprehend was the lightness that his steps felt like as it guided the (h/c)-nette.

(Y/N) can't stop laughing on how many attempts she has to endure since she keeps on scolding herself mentally for almost stumbling every two seconds. Her chuckling entered the boy's ears and he couldn't help but to playfully roll his eyes with this.

"You seem pretty happy."

"Why wouldn't I be happy?"

In an instant, Kusuo could now hear even her frail heartbeats due to the hand that she placed on his shoulder now wrapped around his back and compressing their bodies more as if it was still possible. Her breath ghosted his neck and it was enough to drown him into a pool of unidentified ecstasy to which he will never get tired to be swimming in, the light from the cheap bulb seemingly dimming along with the calming of the evening breeze.

"I'm with you, Kusuo!"
