"Guys! I translated the scroll!!"

Varian rushed into the room, the aforementioned parchment in hand.

"Thank goodness!" Rapunzel sighed with relief, "What does it say?"

Varian unrolled the scroll.

"It sa-"

"Yeah, tell us!" Lance interrupted Varian.

"It says-"

"Get to the point," Cassandra said, just to annoy the young alchemist. It worked. Varian made a frustrated noise, then moved his focus back to the parchment.

"It says:
There is more in you
Far more than they know
Look down deep inside
And let your powers show"

Varian's stripe of blue hair began to glow as he read. Everyone gasped softly, but Varian didn't seem to notice, since he kept reading.

"Feel the power surge
Light your heart aglow
Mysteries will unlock
To let your powers show
Your powers show..."

Varian's hair, which had fully turned a glowing blue and was floating, fell back down, reverting to it's original raven shade after he had finished reading the incantation.

"Ow!" Varian exclaimed, clamping his hand to his head. He had a throbbing headache, which threatened to make him pass out.

"Are you okay, Varian?" the princess asked with concern, stepping to her friend and placing a hand on his arm. He nodded, but winced a bit at the movement.

"Yeah, just a headache..." he replied.

"Your hair turned bright blue!" Rapunzel said, thinking that there might be more to the situation.

"But how? He's not the Moonstone...right?" Cassandra said, mostly to Rapunzel. The princess was speechless.

"But only someone who's somehow gained the power of the moonstone could..." Eugene said, his sentence trailing off.

"Maybe I should try it again," Varian said, "Maybe it was just a one time thing or something."

Rapunzel was about to say that it might not be a good idea, but Varian had already started reading the incantation once more. His hair began to glow blue again, this time much quicker. Soon he was floating a couple of inches off the ground. The others tried to pull him down, but he wouldn't budge. There was a sharp pain in Varian's head, but he couldn't stop reading, or even move his hand to his head. Images and scenes flew around in his head...

~flashback~

"I'd get in trouble for taking it..." young Varian thought to himself. He stood there for a minute, debating whether or not to take the stone, "I could just take it for a minute, then put it back!" he thought triumphantly. Varian reached up and grabbed the stone. He looked at it for a few seconds. Nothing happened.

"This is boring," he thought with a sigh, "What's so special about this rock anyway-"

His thoughts were interrupted when the rock started to glow. The light spread onto him, slowly leaving the stone. Looking in the reflection of a nearby mirror that was in the room, Varian saw that his hair had turned bright, glowing, electric blue.

~end of flashback~

He was the Moonstone.

He snapped out of his daze and wanted to tell everyone of his discovery, but suddenly, he fell to the ground and blacked out.
