He was furious.
He had the right to be angry at you... right?
But why couldn't he have you for himself?
Those thoughts clouded Giyuu's judgment because he yearned to have you to be his. You stood by his side and even defended him when the other Hashira insulted him. Although he was used to being belittled by others, his guard lowered when you protected him, of all people. Instead, you took Sanemi and Obanai's insults as a weakling because you couldn't master some of the Water Breathing forms.
During the past three months, Giyuu knew that you continued leaving every night to meet with someone. No matter how much he tried following you, you were always one step ahead of your master to make sure he didn't find out about your meetings with Kokushibo. Every morning, you were distracted or tired to get up for training.
He suspected you hadn't been sleeping well and sent you to Shinobu countless times to watch over you and make sure your health wasn't deteriorating. After putting the pieces together, he came to the conclusion that scared him to death.
Someone captured your heart.
When he couldn't catch up to you, he decided to go to your room and look for answers on the person you continued to meet with every night. At first, he hesitated on snooping around in your room because it was not like him, but his curiosity got the best of him. After training and spending time with you, you managed to capture his heart first. You treated him like an equal instead of ignoring him as everyone did.
When you first met him, he was suspicious of why you suddenly wanted to be friends with him since he thought it was one of Shinobu's cruel tricks. Eventually, he realized that you were a true friend to him. Because of that, he grew attached as much as he fought with himself not to become connected with someone. As he snooped around your room, it was spotless. There was not one letter or any clue given to him. To him, you were smarter than you looked.
Before he could give up on looking around for clues, he saw an unfamiliar sheath that he didn't recognize. He knew what your sword and sheath looked like, so seeing that was surprising to him. As he came near the sheath, he slowly took the sword that looked like it was years old but looked recently polished. When his eyes landed on the writing, he took a moment to read them.
You and I will always be together. Through Hell and Heaven, I will always be yours.
He had the feeling that this sword was connected to you. He didn't know why he was angry for an odd reason. He wanted to know who you were meeting with and wondered if it was too late to have your heart. He put the sword back in its case and lit a lantern before sitting down to wait for you. He wanted answers. Not only for the demon slayers but himself as well. He had his suspicion that you and that Upper Moon was connected, so he needed to know your side of the story.
After waiting for a long time, he finally heard your door slide open. Oh, you looked so shocked when you saw him sitting there as if it was an interrogation. To him, it was like you were a deer caught in headlights that couldn't move after being caught. "Giyuu-" You opened your mouth to explain the situation, but he beat you right to it. "Where have you been?" He demanded, leaving no room for jokes or anything of the sort.
As your master and friend, he wanted to know what you were doing late at night, and it was suspicious why you suddenly left the headquarters at midnight. "How long have you been in my room, Giyuu? You have no right to be here without my permission."
