CHAPTER 33

33 | feelings

After what happened that morning, Taeyong and Jaehyun spent their time inside of the apartment. They thought to stay together until both of their heats die down. Taeyong thought it would be a bad idea since he told everything to Jaehyun. He was expecting awkwardness or uncomfortable silence between them.

But all Jaehyun do was to take care of Taeyong.

"Are you good?" Jaehyun asked when he came back from the kitchen who just washed the plates they used in lunch. He also cooked lunch so Taeyong did nothing but to sit on the couch and watched TV.

Taeyong nodded at his question as the alpha sat down on the couch with him, "Yeah...Thanks for the lunch. You should've woken me up to cook."

"Oh, it's fine. You cried too much," Jaehyun uttered with a smile on his face.

The omega got timid and looked away, "Next time. I can do things on my own too."

"Yeah, I know. But now that I'm here, I'll take care of you as your mate."

Taeyong felt his heart thumped. It felt so new but he was happy. Jaehyun felt the same but he was trying to act natural like how he used to act infront of the omega. But he just became softer towards Taeyong.

"Same here," the omega looked back at the alpha, "I want to start getting used to you being around as my mate."

Jaehyun smiled sweetly with Taeyong smiling back. The alpha felt his heart beating for the omega. He wanted to pull him for a cuddle but he was afraid that Taeyong might get uncomfortable. He'd rather stay close than having skinship that could possibly make the omega distant from him.

But he thought he should just say his feelings. He thought and decided about it when he was having some air just this early morning.

Confessing would've been an excuse for him to push himself away from Taeyong because of what he did to him last night, when he thought it felt wrong because he didn't know they were mates. Fortunately, they are.

Right now, he just thought he should just say it to maybe give Taeyong a heads up that he wants to take care of him, not only because he's his mate, but also because he has fallen in love with him.

"Jaehyun...?"

Jaehyun snapped out when Taeyong called him.

"Hm?"

"I was just curious...about what you said a while ago," the omega said.

Jaehyun raised an eyebrow, "What exactly?"

"When you said, you were glad that it was me."

Taeyong did feel butterflies upon remembering how soothing Jaehyun's voice was when he said that, but it left him asking why. He wanted to know the reason to maybe satisfy his curiosity.

"You really want to know?" Jaehyun asked.

The omega thought about it twice and nodded. The alpha took some time before he sighed and calming himself up. Jaehyun looked straight at Taeyong, praising how breathtaking his mate was.

"I'm in love with you."

It took a second for Jaehyun's words to sink in in Taeyong's mind. The omega felt his heart dropped, eyes widened and face heating up. Did he hear that right? Is his own self playing tricks?

"W-Wait, what?" the only words that Taeyong could say.

The omega was taken aback when the alpha moved closer to him, their faces inches away but it made Taeyong flustered. Jaehyun adored the doe eyes, wanting to stare at them forever. Taeyong stared at the intimidating ones of the alpha and saw how it was nothing but full of sincerity.

"I've fallen for you."

Jaehyun repeated. The omega didn't say anything. He opened his mouth but nothing was coming out. He doesn't know what to say or he was just plain distracted with Jaehyun's eyes.

"You're not just a mate to me, Taeyong. You're more than someone I just met that night," the alpha chuckled, "Sorry if it was sudden. I know it was too much...but--"

Out of nowhere, Taeyong just leaned closer to pull Jaehyun into a kiss. His skinny hand was placed on the alpha's nape and his other supported himself. Jaehyun tensed but stayed until the omega pulled away in a hurry with a flushed face.

"I-I'm sorry--Oh, gosh, I didn't mean to...I mean, I just...didn't know what to say..." the omega said softly.

Jaehyun hesitated before he spoke, "And that was for...?"

Taeyong covered his face with his palm, hiding himself from the embarrassment and Jaehyun found it cute. It took Taeyong some time before he got the courage to look back at the alpha with his still red face.

"I just...I just feel the same."

It was almost inaudible but just enough for Jaehyun to clearly hear it. The alpha couldn't help but to smile, to the point his dimples were showing. Taeyong looked away and whined at how embarrassing it was, but a hand carefully removed his that were on his face.

The hand cupped his jaw and the familiar pair of lips were placed on his for the second time. Taeyong took a second before he submitted and kissed back. His arms were wrapped around Jaehyun very loosely, with his hands gripping onto Jaehyun's hair.

Jaehyun pulled Taeyong closer, wrapping an arm around the slim waist. The one on the omega's jaw dropped and ended up caressing the omega's bare thigh, rubbing his thumb against the smooth, plump skin. Their lips moved slowly, trying to savor the moment. It felt like it wasn't true and if it was, they want to be in this dream longer.

Good thing, everything was reality.

The alpha slowly pulled away but only when their lips were a centimeter apart. They stared at each other before their foreheads touched. They couldn't help but smiled at how happy they are feeling.

"Finally."

Jaehyun uttered softly and Taeyong softly chuckled. The alpha placed a peck before they cuddled on the couch while watching a drama.
