Marcel's POV

~A few minutes before 10pm~

I decided I was going to finally open up to Felix about my past. I know I said once we became closer friends at first but now I just feel like it's better to get out of the way. I feel that I also need this, I need to open up about my past more too.

As I head towards the gas station thoughts of how to open up about it fill my mind. I haven't even fully opened up to my mom about it yet. The only one who knows the full story is Ace, he was the one by my side through it all. Kinsley was there too but we weren't as close back then.

I push back all those thoughts as I see Felix standing at the entrance of the store. I walk up to him and his sweet scent begins to fill my nose.

"So where are we going?" He asks with a soft smile planted on his face. "You'll just have to wait and see." I reply, beginning to walk away, he quietly follows, not questioning me any further.

We walk in silence for a few minutes before I decide I can't take it anymore. "So, how long have you worked there?"

Felix smiles up at me, "Since I was 15. It's my first job actually. I really enjoy working there and the pay is well." I feel like a loser compared to him. I've never had a job except for maybe something during the summer. My mom has always wanted me to just focus on school.

"I feel like I should get a job."

"Then why not? But don't overwork yourself. I work to save up for my future or for my mat-." Felix stops and clears his throat awkwardly. I feel my face flush. Stupid! Why am I blushing. He probably doesn't want me as a mate anymore after how I treated him. Wait....do I want to be his mate? It's just so sweet that even such a young age he's been thinking about caring for his mate.

"Anyways how much longer?" We both continue the conversation for the next few minutes, trying to ignore the awkward atmosphere forming around us.

~5 minutes later~

" Tadaaa!" I say pointing to the neighborhood playground. "This is where you wanted to take me?" He says pouting, I don't know what more he was expecting.

I lead him towards the swings and order him to sit down. "So why did you bring me here exactly?" He questions in a low voice. "I just thought it would be a relaxing place to talk." I say simply, he seems to accept that response and begins swinging. The truth is that this was the park me, Kinsley, and Ace used to play at when we were younger. Somehow it calms me, it's filled with so many good memories.

"Hey Felix?" I say looking over at him, he returns the glance. "What is it?" He asks with worry in his eyes when he meets my expression. "Remember that thing I said I would talk to you about once we become closer?" He simply nods, "is it okay if I talk about it now?"

He looks over at me in disbelief, "are you sure you're comfortable with that?" He asks in a soft tone, I nod and begin to smile, "yeah it's okay. I wanted to tell you someday anyway." I'm hoping by doing this he'll understand the way I acted in the past. Maybe with all of this in the open we can finally become friends.

"Then yes you can," he says while returning my smile. I take another big push on the swing as well as another deep breath before beginning.

~Flashback~(I'm going to do it in a flashback so it's more detailed but in reality Marcel is explains this to Felix in simpler terms)

I smile brightly as I make my way towards school; it is my first day of middle school and I'm so excited.

I make it to the entrance and meet my two best friends. We all show our schedules to each other but sadly I only have one class with them. They're a lot smarter than me so that's not surprising.
