The people in England saw John Rolfe and Pocahontas as a beautiful love story, two people from different cultures were actually able to fall in love. But not everyone believed in this story, during an interview someone asked John if he truly loved Pocahontas, and instead of saying nice shit he said "If I were actually trying to take advantage of a teenager, I'd choose a white girl who was more pleasing to the eye."

Pushing aside the fact that a fourty year old was marrying a seventeen year old, people saw that Pocahontas was choosing Christianity and marrying a white man, thinking that Indigenous peoples not being so savage after all. The 'couple' became so popular people started making souvenirs, portraits being made of the two. Their fictional love story was so popular that they were put on newspapers everywhere. They were so famous that they even got to meet King James and Queen Anne.
