"Perhaps you can aid me on who to assign missions to?" Fuegoleon asked on the other secluded side of the hot spring. It's strange that he's been talking for almost five minutes but there was no response.

"(Y/n)? Are you alright?" He asked you as he furrowed his eyebrows. Usually you would clang rocks together as a response but you were dead silent today.

"(Y/n)... Pardon me..." He said, quickly getting up to check on you. He noticed a silhouette of a body underwater and realized that you aren't getting up anytime soon.

Fuegoleon didn't waste a second to get you out of the water. Despite the water soaking you, evident tear streaks were still there.

The Vermillion haired captain placed your body on the solid ground, thankfully you wear your towel on the bath even thought it's quite eccentric.

You weren't breathing and the only thing he can do now is to perform cpr. He pressed his lips on your and repeated the proper process.

You suddenly cough water and opened your eyes, breathing heavily. You grasped your towel and saw the worried man beside you.

He gripped your shoulders, "What are you doing? Do you realize that you could have died" he scolded you. You looked at him with an obvious scared expression.

He got baffled, you never showed that you were scared before. This was very new to the Crimson Lion's Captain.

"I apologize. You must have dozed off because of my trick earlier? I'm not certain but forgive me" he said as you you looked at him with shock.

You violently crossed your arms signalling him that it wasn't his fault at all. Fuegoleon was now confused as to what's bugging you.

Whatever it is, it must be big since you've been so distant since the day you became their servant. He figured that it was because of the disappearance of your clan but some details are missing and you don't want anyone to find out.

"I'm still your friend. You can tell me your problems. The longer you carry your burdens, the more heavier it becomes" he told you as you closed you eyes.

You went back on the hot water and this time, Fuegoleon held a proximity beside you. He wasn't leaving you after what happened. You're becoming more dead inside and it was evident this past few days.

"Did you choose to be alone?" He asked you and you looked at him with widened eyes. He looked at you and noticed that he had struck a nerve.

"You probably didn't, correct?" He asked as you shook your head 'no'. You wanted to tell him that you messed up your fate so bad, that it was your fault, but you couldn't. You were afraid.

Perhaps you were afraid so much that you've driven away your magic ability. Perhaps you were afraid to be viewed as someone who killed an entire clan because of selfishness.

Perhaps you were afraid to be called a monster.

"You can rely on us now"

"Whatever holding you back is in the past"

"You're a different person. Someone older and someone wiser so don't be afraid" he finished off and looked at the stars. Once again, your eyes shone at his words.

You looked away and smiled. After a while, you decided to get out of the water and dried your hair with an extra towel. Fuegoleon looked at you for an explanation but you just raised your eyebrow and went to write on your notebook.

"It's already late, Fuegoleon-sama" he read and nodded in understanding. He went out and dried himself on a separate place to respect each other's privacy.

Once you've both settled, you immediately left and headed at the HQ. You went to Fuegoleon's office and helped him sort out the paperwork and some missions that were already piling up.

You blinked your eyes, trying to stay awake. It was a rule for the servants to never sleep unless your masters are asleep. Fuegoleon noticed the battle between your unconsciousness.

Your head suddenly dropped from the sleepiness that has taken over you. You cursed yourself in your thoughts and tried to lift your head up.

You felt a hand getting gently placed over your head, preventing you to look up. You tried to not disobey a servant's rule so you persisted to lift your head and it was to no avail.

"Rest, your health is more important than mere paperwork" the calming voice of the Captain covered the silent room. As if it was magic, you became more sleepy.

Your eyelids dropped and a few minutes later, you were peacefully asleep on Fuegoleon's desk. You were silently snoring and you looked like a small kitten, sleeping.

"You've done well, kitten-" The fiery captain said while realizing the nickname he gave you. He purses his lips into a thin line and shook the thought off.

You furrowed your eyebrows in your sleep, signalling that you were having a nightmare. Fuegoleon decided to finish the few paperwork he has left and double checked the mission papers.

After he was done, he gently lifted you up and walked towards your room in the HQ. He noticed how light you were and how messy your appearance was.

"You've never had time for yourself since you've always served me..." He sighed at the thought. He was the one who said that you were friends, not master and servant, but it was also him who caused you such extra work.

He placed you down your own bed and noticed tears slipping down your cheeks but it wasn't the same. This time, you looked relieved as if you've found your hope.

The Captain was about to leave when he suddenly felt a weak grasp. He looked at you and saw you were still asleep but you were holding onto his clothes by instincts.

"Don't leave me too.." a voice that ringed in his head said. He was surprised, was it you who was communicating with him? Is that how your voice sounds like? There were many questions Fuegoleon can ask but he was just thankful for this day.

'I'm sorry for being this hard to love' you said in your dreams as you saw a silhouette of a man and a future you.

"Stay soft. Do not let the things that have hurt you turn you into a person you're not" Fuegoleon said and left you to dream.
