Oh how fast the time flies by. It's already been a month since you've recovered but it was also a month of pure loneliness.

Fuegoleon received the news from Captain Charlotte that you're intentions was to decline the Blue Rose. He felt nothing but a fool for being to hasty with his interpretations.

It's also been a month since he avoided you and you missed his presence so much. A part of you was hurting and the fact that you've lost your voice again was killing you.

"Fuegoleon-sama, your papers had been piled up. Perhaps you need my assistance?" You've showed him the paper. You've been asking that for several days and his usual was response was a ...

"I'm alright. I'm the captain of this squad and this is my responsibility, not yours" he said while you bowed to walk away. You've never spent time with Fuegoleon anymore since he's been assigning you missions.

That was a good thing except for the fact that your mission assignments were tripled. You barely even had the time to walk around the Hq and you're always so tired.

You felt tears trickle down your face again. This was the 34th time you've cried within a month and no one had ever taken a notice of this, not even Fuegoleon who would always told you that you're tears were precious.

You walked around town to ease up. You can't help but think of who attacked you with the ice shards back then and what are the intentions to do so.

You sighed and bumped into someone. You bowed to apologize but they just kept walking. You didn't mind it but you feel something different within you now.

'Perhaps it's just me' you thought.

Suddenly you felt more saddened, more emotional, more... alone. Your horrible thoughts had doubled and you were becoming paranoid.

You returned to the Hq to get some pain killers and went to your room. You can't erase your thoughts and you can't handle the pain anymore.

You took one pain killer and in a span of few hours, you've consumed half of the small bottle. You feel disgusted by yourself and one thought crossed your mind.

'What if I died..?'

You knew this was unhealthy so you've come to the person whom always sparked hope in your eyes. You dragged yourself up and knocked on your captain's office.

"(Y/n).. don't you have a mission to attend to in five minutes?" Fuegoleon asked as you looked at him with pleading eyes. He didn't take notice of this, still blinded by the thought that he needs to stay away from you for your safety.

"Please Fuegoleon-sama, can I speak with you?" You showed him the paper and he shook his head.

"As you can see, I'm quite busy" he said.

"But you've been busy for this whole month. It's unhealthy, captain" you wrote down and he looked at you with sharp eyes.

"I simply cannot disregard the duty of a captain. I know that you know this very well commander (Y/n)!" He scolded as you finally give up. Your eyes lost it's shine once more and you've bowed down like the servant you are.

"Apologies." You showed him the paper and left. Fuegoleon didn't mean to raise his voice at you but he knows that you're strong and you can handle things on your own.

But he was wrong.

You needed him the most.

And he ignored your pleads.

"I thought you were going to save me" you whispered as you closed the doors to your captain's office. Fuegoleon heard your words but didn't know if he heard it right.

But one thing is for certain. You were carrying a burden.

You've gone back to your room and stared at the ceiling, feeling nothing but emptiness. Atleast it's way better than the massive pain you felt. It was somehow... comforting.

It's been hours and a Knight knocked on Fuegoleon's office. He came to report the latest mission you were supposed to be in.

"Why are there so many casualties?" Fuegoleon asked.

"Didn't commander (Y/n) consult to you? She didn't come along this mission. We thought that something urgent came up and she couldn't come so we carried on our mission without her" the knight explained and Fuegoleon excused him.

Fuegoleon stood up and went to your room with mild anger. Once he was outside your door, he knocked several times but there was no response. He tried to open the door but it was locked. His mild anger drastically turned into concern.

He had no choice but to break the door and there you were. Looking up in the ceiling with a dark aura surrounding you. He looked at the scene closely and realized that this aura wasn't just surrounding you, it was engulfing you into it's darkness.

"Hey... Fuegoleon... What do you think about life after death? Is heaven really beautiful?" You asked him as he only looked at your lifeless eyes and your thin body.

You have evident wounds from missions he sent you and the bags under your eyes was worse from before. Your lifeless eyes came in contact with his.

"Fuegoleon... You wouldn't mind if I die right?" You asked him as he furrowed his eyebrows at your questions.

"Of course I mind" he replied.

"I appreciate the lie. You clearly don't, you're basically killing me yourself and you've avoided me for a month" you laughed gently as if you've said the funniest thing.

"I was—" he was cut off by your words.

"I was busy. That's what you're going to say, right?" You smiled at him as the captain stayed quiet.

"Have you lost someone precious to you, Fuegoleon?" You asked him.

"If you lost me, would you mind?" You continued, repeating the meaning of the other questions.

"Oh... That's right. I'm not precious. I'm just a servant to the Vermillions" you chuckled bitterly.

"I wish I..." You trailed off. Your grimoire began to float around, signalling that you're about to cast your first spell in years.

"I wish I would d—" before you were able to finish your words, Fuegoleon covered your mouth. Your body acted up as you resisted your captain and the moment he uncovered your mouth, you spoke.

"I wish I was dea—" you got cut off when Fuegoleon pushed you on the wall, pinning your hands. He hastily placed his lips on yours and your tears flowed down your cheeks.

He let go of you and your back slid on the wall. Magic wore off on you and you realized that you were under a spell. You then remembered the moment you were bumped on the streets.

"I'm sorry I didn't mean it" Fuegoleon said, panicking on what to do. He didn't know why he suddenly had the urge to kiss you and thought it was inappropriate.

"You... Didn't mean it..?" You asked, your heart shattering in bits. Your lifeless eyes remained and you refused to look at your captain.

"Fuegoleon-sama please don't mind me. You said it yourself, you're busy. Please continue to work" you said but he didn't move an inch.

"I have to make sure that you're okay" he said and attempted to pat your head like he always does. You slapped it away which surprised him.

"I was never okay to begin with" you told the man whom you've claimed to fall in love with. "But it's alright. You're my master and a servant shouldn't concern their master with their personal problems"

"I've told you many times. You're not our servant. You're my greatest ally, you're my friend" he said.

"Yes. Whatever you say Fuegoleon-sama but I must tend to my other 4 missions within this day" you said and left.

That was the moment Fuegoleon realized that his blind actions led you break further than you ever were. He learned his lesson and this time, he wouldn't let you drift away from him.
