I loved the idea of love & how beautiful she can be,

How she could open my heart & fill me with glee.

I loved the rush of adrenalin when she crossed my mind,

How she was able to keep me on my toes & leave me blind.

What I was unable to realize, was how cruel she can become,

How quickly she can turn into hate & leave my heart to numb.

I hated how she switched without a second to think,

That by turning to hate, my heart would sink.

My will to live would then sink too,

In the sea of love that turned from red to blue.
