Nightmare threw himself on the couch, shutting his eyes and letting out a long, exhausted sigh.  The day had been stressful, and he was glad to be back, despite the sly remarks the others spat.
He opened his eyes lazily, blinking a few times before looking at the others who were all looking at him in awe and confusion, and others who just struggled to suppress a goofy smile as they tried not to laugh. Nightmare looked back at them as they all waited for a rundown of how it all happened, they needed a response, as it had been the most interesting thing to happen in weeks.
Nightmare sat in silence as he tensed again, not liking the stares he received. It reminded him of how the villagers used to see him, but of course that had been years ago, when he was considered a kid, (Atleast for his lifespan, since being a guardian he lives much longer than any regular monster, and that also meant he would probably outlive his gang, unless something happened. )
Nightmare sighed uncomfortably from the peer pressure, replying sternly.

" You're lucky I know you, another adult shouldn't have to tell you idiots how to use your words. "
some of them snickered to eachother, muttering responses between the group before Killer spat out a response.
" jeez, did Dream do you that badly? "
That earned an angry hiss from nightmare.
"no, you idiot- Look, I don't actually know what happened but it did have to do with him. ...and I hope what you're saying isn't true. "
He seemed disgusted, The dream he knew wouldn't do that. Right? He shook off the idea as he remembered the machine.
The others had been surprised he didn't lash out.
"No..No, it had to do with some lab. Probably sci's, "
He fanned away killer's hand, who was trying to rip off his bandage and look at the wound. Because killer.
He only giggled in response, as well as Horror and Cross.

"Actually..that reminds me."

Nightmare sighed, standing back up and stretching before walking upstairs to the restroom, the others following promptly. He quietly snarled at the group, causing them to scurry around the corner as he walked in, shut the door behind him, and gently took off the bandage while looking in the mirror. It had barely healed, though it had been numbed from the cool temperature of the snowdin he had arrived from. He figured he just needed a moment to wash up and relax, before he could plan a way to get revenge on dream, and possibly force him to tell him what he had done to him, as it worried him if it had altered his magical makeup in any other way. ( BEFORE YOU COMMENT, NO, HE IS NOT WEARING MAKEUP. Lmao I mean what he's made of )

The crackheads he knew as the rest of the bad guys watched silently from under the door in curiosity, like the idiots they were, trying to shove their entire face as far as they could under there to get a better view of what was going on. They're probably lucky they only saw his wound tbh-

Nightmare quickly lashed around, bandage in hand, as he heard horror accidentally smack his face into the door, and whine.
Nightmare swung the door open, hitting like two of them against the door, and scurried away, holding his 'nose' in tears. He growled and glared at them as he saw them turn the corner, and walked downstairs. Honestly, it wasn't much more chaotic than usual, other than the fact they had all were probably eagerly waiting for their leader's return, only to find a seemingly much weaker, smaller monster, much like a pup in comparison. He had only been like 5 inches shorter, though, but to them, since they're alternate universes, it seemed like a major difference.
Nightmare walked into the kitchen to find something to eat, though he didn't need it, it was necessary to heal. He opened the fridge, Horror almost immediately shoving his head under nightmare's arm, squeezing in front of him to raid the fridge.

"

Goddamnit Horror, do you always have to be like this every time I open the fridge?"

Aack sorry this is short and fluffy. Tbh I didn't know what to write, as they needed a break from the previous story climax, soooo yeah. I might have him meet apple at some point, after the short break is over.
